Discussions / Sproginators Ban
« on: October 18, 2013, 04:17:39 PM »
So, i've recently been talking to sproginator via steam, and apparently he got banned by gothars (first temporary, later on perma) for apparent offences against him (against gothars, that is), and insults that were thrown on steam (which were obviously not - there's evidence to support this).

(The evidence is condensed - it's all in this spoiler though)

steam logs
Steam logs removed by Trylobot on 10-19-2013, because it was rude of you to post them in the first place, without Alex's permission. Do not do this again.

I don't really see how this would deserve a permanent ban - yeah, i could understand a temp ban but a perma... seems a bit overkill to be honest.

Yeah, as unfortunate as it is, i have. I'll stick around somewhat irregularly and provide help... Whenever.

The mod is basically not in development as of now, until i find a new project lead that i deem capable of leading it. Until then, well, this is about it.

Shouldn't have any compability issues though, but that has not been tested.

You are in no way obligated to listen to the video in which we explain our points indepth and very well.

I am in no way obligated to listen to you saying that and can tell you to *** off at my descretion.

Right, so, the ship balance being sledgehammered.

Honestly, it kinda has been. Now, i know this is entirely dependant on how you fly your fleet, but.... Really, if you're flying all-frigate and think that's fun (which i find myself doing more often than not), it really shows to me that that's the case. The hyperion has been sledgehammered into place. Do i think that's good? Yes, yes i do because the hyperion was in need of that. The rest of the frigates suffered the same drawbacks because of the frigate-wide CR application. Did they need that? No, not at all. Well, that's imo, but it really was detrimental to my way of play, and that's really something a game never should do - a game shouldn't really force you to stick to one way of play.

Yes it does, if you play a certain style. If you play a huge fleet taking on equally big fleets and use that as your point then i simply won't listen to you making your point based on that until you experience the fact that small fleets actually get hit by this, and pretty hard. Right now, there's no way to make money other than combat, and i've made this point already in the video.

>You are horrible for discussing this, wait for x feature

Now sure, you could make points about this not being balanced for this version of the game, but if you're going to make the game unplayable for x months until x feature is made, then why should i even bother playing the game if i can't make any progress with my playstyle? Seems like an exercise in futility, if anything.

>Me crying about my inability to adept

Good job trying to wipe my points off valkyrial. Good job reminding me why i hated you.

Look, if you're going to resort to ad hominem, do it right.

Okay, so i'm supposed to suck up bad mechanics and stop crying because starsector is the greatest game ever? Okay, great to know that's how you feel.

Too bad i don't need to give a damn about what you feel, and you're also free to ignore all the facts that i've actually adapted but can't be arsed to waste futile time on a stupid mechanic when i can have more fun elsewhere.

Cause that is what games are all about, fun, right?

>Community being the same

Debatable point, really. I mean, for all the time i've been here, it's really changed towards a way more passive-aggressive attitude than... ever before, really.

(I left the skype chat for totally different reasons; please don't bring that up here)

As for the forums, a mix of me not wanting to be here (just naturally being bored and kinda burning myself out), having less and less time due to college, and simply being.... Well bored, i decided to not post here anymore. I might return at a few points in time, but don't hope for it. I will though, keep playing the game. :)

Thanks for the replies. Regarding why i want to leave forever.... I just don't want to stay around here. Don't get me wrong, i'll play the game and i'll like it, do some hardcore modding into it later, but i just don't want to stay around in here. Nothing wrong with you guys though, really.

So, yeah, jist packing my bags right now. Gonna be missing y'all, but atleast steam exists ;)

Well, would you rather have "The longest and most destructive party ever"?
They looted, they raided, they held whole cities for ransom for fresh supplies of cheese crackers, avocado dip, spare ribs and wine and spirits, which would now get piped aboard from floating tankers.

Because we might start one. It would be bad if you missed it. So you should check the forums from time to time, just in case.

Interesting proposal, but i'll have to skip on it. As tempting as it sounds, this leave is of a rather permanent nature.

So what is happening to Your mods-in-progress then?

Most get cancelled, future ones included. I'll hand control of caelus to someone else most likely, or cancel that alltogether too.

I never actually expected this time to come around (and certainly not for me, but alas, here it is.

Simply and shortly put, i'm leaving this community. As for the reasons why, well, it got... Docile? Boring? Lifeless? Honestly, i can't answer that, but it just doesn't have the same amount of attraction it used to have before, to me, and that's... Why i am leaving.

So yeah. Goodbye, aufweidershen, and all that. It's been a fun ride, but this is the end station for me.

How did you know.......

We always know.

But really.

It's the chickens.

One day, before sproginator joined the forums, the chickens murdered him.....

And replaced him.

Due to previous events, Wish HQ has been targeted by conservative and nationalistic groups that are anti-learning.

Therefore, purely due to peer pressure, the government of Wishasia, The planet of Arka, has decided to retract Wish HQ's wish granting powers, until they can prove that they won't hand out knowledge in wishes.

Up until Wish HQ can prove that they will not abuse their powers, they are not allowed to use them at all.

This wish cannot be wished.

Wish HQ does not interfere in politics. Therefore, the US has been erased off the world.

I wish for a wish.

Woah, this thread is approaching levels of hostility and arrogance i've not even seen on a forum that is known for that.

Seriously though guys, what is up with you? Why do you see the need to go on a zealous crusade against the newbie (OP can work on his searching and information skills though) that obviously is, well, new. Just... Whelp, i guess the SF forums really have gotten boring lately
