Why does this matter? if you get your contact rep up high enough eventually they start offering very hard stuff anyway.

I've gotten the omega bounty from a Medium/High contact (that tritach story guy) with a ton of rep

General Discussion / Re: colonizing claimed systems

Cheers for that made me feel a lot safer going around exploring lol (always got home on time, if I beelined). It’s weird that there’s no information on it online. I was expecting a real fight for survival, constant pressure, having to scramble to get a station up and running. No, they only sent 2 fleets before size 5, and my fleet easily outscaled them. It doesn’t look like they’re interested in bombing Ithaca yet either, founded it as soon as Ismara hit 5, got the warning about the system being claimed, but nothing. Maybe there’s a minimum time between fleets and it’s faction or system-wide, not per planet.

Suggestions / where’s my remnant phase carrier

give it the astral recall ability (to teleport bombers and fighters inside of it for accelerated rearming while phased) and forbid it from launching or retriving ships while in p-space, it’d be funny.

General Discussion / colonizing claimed systems

Does anyone know off the top of their heads how long it is between saturation expeditions when you colonise a claimed system? I stuck a base in Penelope’s Star, thumbed my nose at the Luddic Church and blew up the first expedition, but I only had 30 days warning to get back to base the first time, and that didn’t even let me go and pick up my astral parked at Jangala. Sitting there waiting is boring as hell! Is it every few months? Every year? More? I tried googling it but all I can get are reddit gloat threads about people sat bombing the hegemony and the wiki doesn’t have anything.

It’s called a colony crisis in the alert popup but that window doesn’t show nothin’. Thanks in advance!

elite PD burst lasers ex mags built in in scarabs

nothing pews harder (for 3 seconds before the ammo runs out)

Yeah that's how you get persean attention, and that shoots tour crisis meter up the same as filling every slot with alpha cores.

7
Tactical bombing drops the crisis timer by 70 or so and lets another faction maybe get the next crisis if there is one, else after a few months you'll get another blockade warning.

I didn't notice any issues with colony expansion, but I also didn't abuse trading or bounty spamming to get millions quickly, and I didn't drop a second colony in my planned system until the first was size 4.

Yeah the system can be punishing if you're doing the usual trade drugs for a few million then invest. Persean league attention is the worst, you have to not settle multiple worlds or they will slam the crisis meter to max really fast.

Taking the forge doesn't stop the blockade, but returning it after you take it is one of the 'strong arguments' you can make in order to negotiate to join the league more favourably, if that's what you want. One strong argument lets you drop fees from 20 to 5%, two let you drop it from 5 to 0%.

In the current system, free ports have no downside, they don't cause starport raids any more and I think that's a shame really. Those were fun. It should at least strain relations with the lawful factions to be the #1 exporter of drugs and crime in the sector.

I defeated the pirate event really early on, but they still kept sending pirate armadas to raid my systems so I'm not sure if that piracy exemption is working correctly.

Anyone else had problems with carriers just ignoring fighter strike orders? I marked one isolated frigate for my drover gladius wings and the carrier flies in the complete opposite direction escorting some cruisers instead.

Industrial evo adds the privateer base which sends raiding fleets to systems you are hostile with and gives big stability bonuses if you're friends with the pirates.

level one midline stations are a little trickier to takes out than lowtech ones (missing a segment) or high tech ones (huge gaps in shield). They got guns in every direction from the start, spars that distract your ships into wasting flux, and faster rotation to get out of your firing arcs faster.

I'll take a picture tonight if you end up needing it, but you cnn't see the loadout at the bottom under the flavour text. It shows as empty! Very, very minor, but sometimes you forget what you equipped your carrier with and the only other way to check is changing camera and leaving tactical mode.

Pressing I to see ship info only works on enemies, you can't use it to see what your own ships have equipped.

It'd be nice if it didn't pause too!

Suggestions / Phase Ship Autopilot
« on: January 06, 2024, 08:29:11 PM »
It'd be neat if you weren't affected by the slowdown if you autopilot a phase ship. You put autopilot on so that you can focus on the rest of the fight right? It's kinda annoying that the fight will take 2x longer because your flag is phase.
