Very interesting and fun mod. Only one question: are the ships in the third mission supposed to fight the player or to run away? They are running away currently.

Wonderful mod, very very fun ships and missions. One question though: are the enemy ships in the third mission supposed to fly through the map and retreat on my side without doing battle?

Announcements / Re: Starfarer 0.34a Released - Patch Notes

Got a few hours of play in (Mac Version):

Everything works - key mapping, mods etc.

And it plays great! More feedback when I have had enough time to peruse it.

I agree totally about the carriers. All in all I would still like to add a note of appreciation for the AI. I love the way most frigates can handle themselves in battle and actually survive through maneuverability.

They are really worthy to be called skirmishers.

Wonderful, congratulation to receiving the permission and to your first mod. As soon as the Preview is out for MAC I will try it! :-)

I hope there are no hard feelings. I like ask difficult questions early as I think it´s better safe than sorry.

The sprites seem to be modified versions of ships from Gratutious Space Battles. Is this correct? If it is, is this legal / allowed? Especially since you did not give credit anywhere in the thread.

Maybe you are right - I will buy 1-2 games as a gift for the time being.

General Discussion / Re: How does SPAZ compare with Starfarer?

But if anyone out there is reading this and can afford both, get them both! More indie space games in the future can only be good.

I like this line of thought. More indie space games means MORE money for everyone, not less as people rarely buy only one game if they like the genre (look at shooters) and the more games, the more exposure of the gaming public to space-sims.

I am a happy owner of Gratuitious Space Battles and I would buy SPAZ, if they had a Mac version.

General Discussion / Possibility of Donations?

Dear creators,

I have not had such fun with a game since playing Starcontrol 1 & Starcontrol 2 with my best friends and siblings. That was a looong time ago (in a galaxy far, far away...)  :)

Having already had more fun with this game that 10$ could ever pay for and in anticipation of more great things to come, I would like to pay another 10$.

Now it just came to me that I could do this by buying another version of the game and giving it to one of my friends, but it would also be nice to be able to donate directly to the project.

I don´t know whether that is feasible, but I saw another visitor suggest such a thing (partly in joke) in the blog-comments and I thought I would ask in earnest.

Avan, this is beautiful work!

I have been sitting in the shower, dreaming about all the modding possibilities of this game. It´s grand to have so many options.

Anyway, back to histology for me :-)

Hello Alex, I know that the missions are not supported yet. This Alpha is a great game in and of itself and I will gladly wait till everything is worked out.

The game does not crash by the way, it freezes and I have to force-quit it. There is no console in the dock after that. At least not one, that would show anything.

Hi Alex,

I have found the starfarer.command file but do not know what to do with it - I am new to the mac, only 2 months that I am using it and I don´t really know the functions or the OS too well.

Hi Avan, thank you for the beautiful work you are doing!

There is no "starfarer-all" directory on the Mac and I can - for the life of me - not find any log file in the package. It does not seem to generate one.  I searched through all starfarer directories in vain.
