Attacking convoys of traders is only returning the normal salvage for their ships, no cargo from their trading. Currenting grabbing more examples, will update further.

Just wanted post in here that this is a great mod, really gives Pilums back their teeth without being overbearing. Been using it for a long time and can highly recommend it.
Really shines when you end up in a fight as a frigate and have to start trying to deal with a 2-4 on 1 while dodging Pilums, some of the most fun I have had flying a Wolf.

Not sure if this is a bug or a typo, But in the description of hyperspace storms the last paragraph (circled in image) talks about using "storm riding" for additional speed and to save fuel. it does NOT save fuel as your speed above 20 burn speed consumes more fuel as it normally would.

awesome that this was added, I've wanted a way to have military sensor profile haulers/tankers since I started playing starsector!

A potential skill system rework might involve splitting different disciplines into their own pools of points, perhaps more like a talent tree system with 2-3 trees (combat, non combat, or combat, fleet, industry) that have trade offs WITHIN the tree itself. so you could gain "combat exp" to gain points to spend on combat skills, with possible trade offs between focusing on low-tech ships or high-tech ships or carriers, fleet points could be focused on the trade off of small fleets of high skilled ships (officers) vs the supply cost reductions to make larger fleets work. Industry could be a trade off of mantaining a huge fleet or focusing heavily on outpost construction.

Whats sorta coming to mind is a skill system like solder abilities in XCom and XCom 2 where at each level up you have one of two choices. But I really think combat and non-combat skills need to be decoupled otherwise the opportunity cost trade off leaves the player with an extremely sour choice.

Just some more ideas:

Sensors:
  • Detect fleets at extended ranges (hyperspace even?)
  • Astral Drift Charting, find areas in system or nearby hyperspace where junk collects from spacial drift.

Weaponry:
  • Solar lasers (mirror array that can be focused into a cutting beam, allow in system fire support in intra-system battles)
  • Asteroid Artillery: Anti-station weapon, use a bunch of supplies (and perhaps a ship) to boost an asteroid into a collision course with a station, alternate method for softening up a station, may result in reduced salvage, very crude, asteroid would be put on rails in campaign and be possible to intercept / need to be escorted as it approaches target.

I was enjoying having a hauler without the civilian hullmod sensor strength/profile penalty!

Could we pretty pretty please get some sort of military cargo and tanker ship? I don't mind investing more heavily in them to get the benefit but I feel it is very much an area where the sector military fleets lack.

things ive noticed:

(bug?) Friendly thunderbolt MRMs (could be all the missile mounts, only ones ive really notice though) like to fly into and detonate on friendly ships instead of passing through them like most missiles, reproduce by deploying 5 calm destroyers with thunderbolt MRMs and look for rear damage.

(might be a feature?) Missiles do not acquire new targets unlike vanilla

Wanzers feel way too slow to engage anything smaller than a cruiser

Wanzers feel way too fragile against anything slow enough for them to engage compared to their replenishment time.

Still absolutely a great mod, good balance with vanilla.

Random brainstorming for outposts beyond "oh let us make ships or mine resources"

Shipbreaker/scrapyard:
  • break down D ships for parts
  • specialized ship crafting materials
  • combine multiple D hulls int? one normal hull for not huge fee
  • Gain more salvage/fuel from scrapping than normal

Hyperspace Interdiction/Interdiction
  • All jumps into system get redirected to the station, piracy?
  • Prevent fighters from being used in system, (Homeworld gravity field generator)

remote fighter assitance/intra-system weapon system
  • Send fighters to assist friendly fleet/s in system
  • Ultra long range weapon that reduces hostile fleet's CR per hit (within like 1000-3000ish system range?)

System-to-system jump-gates
  • allows travel between two outposts instantly for some hefty resource cost
  • limited by range, outer rim outposts would require a chain jump-gates to get to
  • possible progression to restart gate technology?

brief thoughts on the new skill tree:
  • 42 skill points does not feel like enough
  • The "unlock (tree) level 1,2,3" points feel terrible
  • We need a way to respec points (Possible abuses with ship OP)
  • Officer skills need to be more deterministic
