General Discussion / How exactly do I beat this ship
« on: May 13, 2023, 05:41:20 PM »
So I was exploring around, and on the top left corner of the map I found a system with some kind of station in it. And when I tried to explore it ,there is one ship defending it. I thought ok , easy enough. But this ship has some ability to take control of my ships. So I tried to overwhelm it with a bunch of smaller ship but it didn't work. And then tried again with my capital and cruisers and it didn't work. Anyone know any good tactic against this one ?

General Discussion / unidentified fleet?
« on: May 03, 2023, 06:53:11 PM »
I am currently exploring the map, and I noticed that there is this unidentified fleet which moves extremely fast around my fleet. I used interdiction pulse which kinda slow it down and it just flew away. And this unidentified  fleet is really really close to my fleet. Which usually should be able to be seen what faction it belongs to, but it remains as bunch of triangles. At one point it flew over my fleet and I still don't know what kind of fleet it is.
Is this a UFO kinda thing ?

I agree it should be cheap to restore , but it also shouldn't cost more than a new ship

I am just wondering, I salvaged a Paragon with 2 (Can't remember clearly) d mods, I thought I would restore it and only to find out it is actually cheaper to buy a new Paragon than restoring the current one.
Is there any reason to restore a damaged ship at all ?

I think it is a bug..

Ok..
I am playing as pirate faction, and my faction at the moment is having close pact with Sindarian.
And I am actually doing well for a change , when I finally took over the last planet/base that was hostile to me
A screen pops up and say Sindarian has won..but my pirate faction has pretty much owned all the planets in the galaxy.
The only planets left 2 Sindarian owned planet which I was planning on took over once all the hostile factions are gone.
So my question is ....is it possible for pirate faction to win the game at all ?

Mining!! oh yeah...I actually completely forgot about mining .
As for junk pirate mod, I need to look for it . I probably missed it when I was looking for faction mod to add.

Actually I don't think I have junk pirate mod..unless they were included in the Nexlerin mod (which I don't think they do)
I am trying to capture enemy ships. but not always successful , and even if I did..it may not be the ship I am trying to get.
I am going to try what Beobachter says buying some marines and sell them somewhere else to get some credits first.

While on the subject , why when a pirate buys from black market in a pirate owned planet , relationship drops. I mean ..being a pirate is well...kinda illegal in the first place.

To answer your question:

1.yes..I am using Nexerlin mod
2. I do have UnderWorld mod, and I am using new ships at the moment. But in large scale battle , those low tech ships just a bit under powered.
3. Yes..current at lvl 6

General Discussion / Pirate faction weak by default ?
« on: December 13, 2016, 06:36:43 PM »
So..I decided to try to play as pirate faction ...and it is really hard..but I think it is hard is because seems like pirates are weak by default.
Let's say I am trying to take over a size 3 base, I have a size 5 fleets. And enemy response fleet would actually take me out.
This never happenes when I play as other faction.

And that's not just it..I find it difficult to attack other fleet even if enemy fleet are a lot smaller than mine. Even if I win I would loose quite a bit of my fleet which makes it quite hard to save up and buy a better ship.

While playing other faction if my ships got disabled during combat, I usually get it back to repair. But as pirate, they just gone..I have to
keep on loading if battle goes south..and believe me..they do that a lot. Which didn't happen when I play as other faction.
So..my question is pirate for some reason are just weak ? maybe ship status got lowered or something ?
Oh yeah..anyway to make money easier ? I mean battling is not profitable . And other factions just attacks me if I am trying to do some
delivery mission for some money .

Anyway, I marked the installer trust worthy in Norton...I dunno if it helps ... :D

Ok , thanks.
The only reason I asked is because I didn't have any problem before. And yes, I had Norton as my Anti Virus with previous version of the installer and everything is fine.
This is the first time it pops up warning, which cause some concerns for me
