I love doing burn drive rams of frigates into enemy capital ships. The results vary but it is quite hilarious. Works well with the Nova and Retribution's drives too.

Having played with that mod and all, it works just fine, really. Also, while there isn't a version with abyss content, there's a beta of the upcoming update available (still unfinished because, well, the author's still on hiatus). A simple edit of the mod_info.json is all it needs to work on 0.97.

Thanks for the tip. Frankly I'll wait for the full update because I REALLY want to see what the Abyss has to offer with the author's vision now. Plus, I get it, life's busy. Modding isn't a job but a hobby that we fans GREATLY appreciate.

Absolutely love this mod. Looking forward to seeing a .97 update (or at least a check by the author to  confirm it works for .97 and a minor update to confirm it.) With the addition of Abyssal Space I could see some really cool additions being put into Arkgneisis in the future as Alcubierre drives are now canon so... yeah. Fun stuff can be had.

I think all of you are missing quite an interesting interaction here, let the gate hauler move the cryosleeper. It's for hauling big things after all.

I actually like that idea, and it gives the Gate Hauler a nice secondary use. However, it would be nice to know if the cryosleepers have Alcubierre drives or are STL engine powered.

I find a disturbing lack of Eagles here. They are the best main-line cruiser in the game when built for it IMO. Can they kill everything? No. But a pack of them can serve as a VERY real threat an AI HAS to deal with while the real damage dealers can fly up and start punching. I've actually got a VERY solid build for them I will have to post later when I get my current save up to the level to use them properly. Also, I prefer using the XIV fleet Eagle over the mainline but frankly and honestly either of them will do.

I noticed this just a few minutes ago when flying in Thule to Kazeron for some business that I didn't get the Nav Beacon buff. Right now in my campaign I am both a commission holder and a member of the Persean League. Wouldn't it make sense if you hold a commission with a faction, much less a membership, that you would be granted the right to benefit from their infrastructure as well, such as the sensor and nav beacons? I mean, they supposedly trust you enough to do their dirty work and colonize in their space, after all.

This would be a godsend when I am doing deep dive exploration. Oh, and can we have a map indicator for where the center of any nebula is precisely?

It could also have two built-in drone bays as well. 6 Mining Drones would be... interesting on a midline cruiser. But I agree with other commenters that the midline logistics line-up is sorely lacking and could use some additions. Plus, a pirate version can have cramped hanger bays for a neat pirate tramp carrier in the cruiser class.

Actually, what if Recall device was remade into a phase teleport system to launch fighters and bombers into very close proximity of a targeted ship? That would fit the theme of the Astral while providing a very large buff to the abilities of the Astral in terms of offensive prowess.

Just dropping 6 Cobras right on top of an enemy ship before its PD has appropriate time to respond would be VERY dangerous indeed. Not impossible to survive, mind, but dangerous. Additionally, the system would be somewhat balanced by the fact that the teleported fighters/bombers then have to fly back while under fire and the cycle time would be, approximately, the same.

When it comes to raids and war in Nex I usually am just like "Oh okay, free money!". Then I raid every world the enemy faction has and sell the loot on the black market or hoard it in a dedicated storage facility near the core. Nex really adds flavor to my runs and incentivizes me to us the ground war mechanics in ways I likely wouldn't have in a Vanilla run.

The Wendigo looks really derpy but I can definitely see it as a thing someone did because the Sector became isolated and someone needed more firepower. If the performance you displayed holds up I can certainly seeing it having a niche use in my fleet as a nasty ambusher and dedicated distraction ship.

I will still proclaim Eagle Supremacy though.

I'm going to just commit Heresy here and say the Pegasus is a decent Pilum thrower if you want a capital ship that just THROWS missiles at a rate that the enemy really hates. Is it META? NO. Is it fun? YES.
