Sadly I have to agree with notion that missions aquired at bars feel underpaid. And that strongly encourage me to fully ignore them and just concentrate on old good activities tied to exploration. All other aspect of them are interesting as far as I am concerned.

It is important to note also that this is my reaction on "first expirience" and this opinion may (and likely will) change as my expirience goes.
Aren't the credits just a bonus, the main point being expanding your contact list?
That is possible. Like I said, I am sharing my "first expirience" reaction that is subject to change as it goes. But when we talk about contact I do feel that they happen way too rarely after finishing missions for bar people. So far I got only one contact and it was a trader - so I dismissed him instantly. Since then I did above 20 bar missions and not a single contact occasion happened. All in all that may be just bad RNG for me (or it is supposed to be that rare situation) so I wouldn't worry too much. But it doesn't give good taste if you ask me. Once again - I did not play long eoungh to give strong and valid point here. So I should not be treated too seriously untill I get to play it more and see how it works. Also, if they do have more uses then just source of work and income - please, no spoilers.

Oh, that was really fun read. I am sure you would be allright without any tips. And youtube is full of proper helping videos anyway, but since you asked I will give you this one (since you seem to like to smuggle things for profit and fun!). When buying freighters, buy pirate versions (pirate versions, not necessirily buying from pirates themselfs) - they have special hullmod that makes illegal items not detected via inspecions most of the time. But this is small tip for somebody who likes to smuggle stuff.

Tip for how to play this game is already given by Nick XR.

Like Megas - I would like to see Remnants to do stuff.

But apart of that I would just love to see Independant split up into many smaller factions that directly try to expand into sector (forming new colonies) and which would be something that is compeeting against player more activately. I would wish also for major powers to NOT send "grey aera" expeditions - insted those new factions would be sending them (sending investigation fleet because of AI rumors still would be happening from Hegemony etc). Ah, and for that we would need ability to conquer new colonies... Etc. Etc.

I really do not like fact that "independant" are a faction as it is (even more then pirates). But again, that is just mine opinion on that matter and mine wishfull thinking - nothing more.

Hello :)

As far as I am concerned, best start is by scanning objects in space for factions (derelics, probes - not surveying planets). One of my very first moves that I do is buying a small tanker. Once that done I can reach with my small fleet (Wolf, Kite and said tanker) huge portion of sector (I make sure to have max fuel). Then I just pick mission to scan derelic/probe and go to do that. And next! And next! In small amount of time I usually have eoungh money to get into destroyer based fleet.

Just make sure to not run through hyperspace storms, take some more supplies and keep an eye on your amount of fuel and everything should be allright. And one more thing - for objects that are too close to star/black hole to reach them safely - use Emergency Burn to get to them and after that, quickly run away.

Salvaging things once you are in system of interest is a nice bonus that helps you to sustain your expedition and chance for more interesting items.

As far as I am concerned, factions attacking player's colony are happening way too often. It is litelary expedition after expedition with expedition in betwen of expeditions for the sake of expedition. Really... Too much. Too much. Once more - too much. I think there should be some kind of "cooldown" in game. Like if expedition happened and got repulsed,  then next expedition (from ANY faction) can happen only after like 3 months. And if it succeded then only after some time after its effect faded off. Because in my personal opinion main problem is that they force me to be back in system on time (no, I am unable to spare that amount of money for constant bribes - I am glad you are superior player and all that, but I am not - sorry for me being *** compared to you), which means constant running with little to no time to do anything usefull/lucrative.

But that is only my opinion - I might be just not "GIT GUTTED" eoungh to deal with problems in 0.9 and in week or so will think diffrently.

Power of factions' fleets scaling to player's power? Umm... No thanks. I hate this kind of gimmicks. It really sounds bad.

However having faction send fleet dedicated to hunting down and eliminating player (when player becomes too big of nuisance) would be nice thing - and THAT fleet should scale with player's power. Other than that I really find it awfull idea.

(ah! But of course making such mechanic possibility for purpose of modding community would be fantastic thing for them I guess...)

How I haven't noticed that mod before I don't know... Great mod. I enjoy it greatly.

BUG - when loading last save which was also game start (so I haven't made any saves and loading last save took me to game start) I had no longer ability to create Asimov Institute while planet also didn't had one (since it could not, since I haven't founded it yet since I loaded game to pre-build institute moment).

I really do hope that you will continue working on this mod since it is a Great Mod :) Best wishes! :)

Modest... This word has a meaning in English, which may lead others to believe that as a nickname it is tied to trait of modesty. That is not truth however...

On one beautifull day I, my sister and my cousin - we decided to check what most stupid, ridicullus and odd names in Polish can we think off... Each one of us gathered 5 of those, than choose one, which was mostly strange. In that way we were left with only 3 names (one from each of us). From those three that were left, we decided to choose MOST STUPID, MOST RIDICULLUS and MOSTLY ODD one. Well... Modest was one that won "contest" ;) Than I thought... Why not use it as my nick in internet? ;) Strange name for strange place ;) Fits in nicely! :D
