Could you advise me on how to enable the mod on version .96a? I can't seem to because it requires the earlier version .95a and I've never messed around with changing mod settings so I have no real clue how to make it let me try to run with it anyway.

In the mod folder, open the file "mod_info.json" in notepad. On the line that says "gameVersion", change the area in quotations after the colon to read "0.96a". The mod will now work, though it'll be marked as for an older version of the game in your modlist unless you get more specific in the alteration to whatever is the current version of 0.96.

Just to give an update, I'm working on getting an official 0.96 version out that has some addition stuff in it plus some balance changes to go along with the vanilla updates.

Might be a bit for that, since I need to play around a bit with vanilla some more to make sure I'm happy with how the SV stuff fits in with the new factional changes. I also have some more code work to do on the new ship to make sure it's doing what it is supposed to properly.

Good news is that as far as I can tell 0.6.1 works fine without any changes as long as you've updated LazyLib and MagicLib. If anyone does run into issues, though, let me know.

That's good to hear, I've gotten quite fond of this mod's weapons, even if I'm less familiar with the ships than I probably should be given my love of exploration.

Glad to have this one update. I always feel vaguely wrong if I don't hear a MAC go off sometimes in a fleet battle.

"Talk to a pirate boss" is...frustratingly nonspecific and I'm wandering around with my transponder off checking pirate bases and comm queues. Is this another bar dialogue run or what?

I noticed the support destroyer galileo isn't counted when you click "deploy all"

The Galileo uses a merchie AI from what I can tell. It's very reluctant to fight and it uses merchant ship quotes in Combat Chatter.

I'm quite fond of this mod and it may have just been fixed, I'll report back.

...I thought this is how it always was.

Previously you could also simply nuke the possibility of bad traits, which ironically seemed to work out well for officered frigates since they'd end up grabbing things like reduced crew losses and increased recovery chance from how badly they got shot up. That doesn't appear to be possible anymore.

I'll give the new version a shot but I suspect Starship Legends is going to be off the list after a couple playthroughs.

A weirdness. I'm not sure if it was a bug, because it sounds just plausible, and if it was a bug, I'm not sure I want it fixed.

I picked up a Pest (P) as combat salvage, intending to drag it home to the emergency ship stash/museum of stuff I've killed. Don't worry, those d-mods give it character!  It sat at the back of the fleet awhile. Occasionally, Hull Restoration would fix a d-mod; I was on a marathon exploration/salvaging run through the north of the sector and stayed out for months at a time. The last one was Unreliable Subsystems. When it got fixed...my Pest (P) turned into a regular midline Pest.

A Katrina was a mainstay, but I've moved on to Vayra's Sector, for now, for cheap salvage gantries.

Oh well, Manta was part of my game so long I'd started to forget it wasn't vanilla.

Have you tried deleting your MagicLib and ESPMVS folders entirely & downloading the latest versions?

That's not it. Noting the references to MagicLib in the logs, I checked my version, but it's up to date. I also tried deleting it and doing a fresh download, but nothing changed; the error persists.

This is a wonderful little mod and I look forward to seeing it grow.

I would also like to state that Bytes with officers are adorable little free-range murderblenders, perfect for herding enemy frigate swarms or picking off flanker frigates going after Ospreys and Kestrels, but vastly better balanced than other ships I'd normally suggest for the role. Bytes have the right blend of mobility and firepower, but will actually regret picking fights with two or three frigates that are focused on them or anything much bigger, and I feel a lot less like I'm cheating because of it.

I'm just not entirely sure where the officer sits given the lack of crew on a Byte, and kind of envision them at the back of my flagship bridge commanding their Byte from a TriPad.
