Playing the game with large monitor in a dark room, but whenever ships get destroyed the explosion brightness seems too much for my eyes. How do i reduce the explosion brightness but not the overall brightness ?

General Discussion / Enemy fleets always take over my comm relay.

I wonder whats the best way to counter their actions, they have no planet or station in the system, they just come in with an extremely tiny fleet, like 2 - 5 frigates/destroyers, take over the relay, and flying around in the system. Track and kill them once(they keep running away), but they keep coming back, usually destroy a large fleet, left over fleet will do this annoying actions. And my own patrol seems not smart enough to retake them.

Any suggestions ?

I have this annoying memory leak detected message that pause the game, technically the message just annoy me and i cant do anything about it, can i either tell the game not to display the message or i can remove certain module so the memory detector just dont function at all ? just prevent it to detect. i dont mind the game crash once every few hours, but just not 1 message every minute or so. i have 32G ram.

found a Cryosleeper, shown on map 10 ly away, but actually its 10.?? ly, so it seems you can use it, but actually you cant, so maybe round it up instead of round it down ?

General Discussion / How to cheat ?

Need some cheat code to spawn some big ships for testing purpose. Anybody know how to do that ?

I want to test out alpha core drop rate, i found out that if i start a new game with derelict, i can get alpha core very easily, like 50% chance or more fighting a derelict fleet. Then game proceed the chance of getting 1 getting lesser and lesser, until 1 point almost no chance of dropping(even opponent has many ships with alpha cores).

I noticed the different is either i had too many alpha core, my fleet getting larger, opponent getting weaker, i want to know the exact reason. Like if i sell some alpha cores, can i improve my chance ? if i reduce amount of ships, can i get better chance ? or what can i do to farm them better.

If anybody know the reason, or able to help me to cheat(to some how produce more ships during the first few days in a new game), i would be grateful. Thanks.

Are there any mods like that available ?

i dont really like the idea to swim around the galaxy looking for a good star to start colonizing, i dont need detailed info, just basic info will do, like how many terran/desert/arid/etc planets, if gate available, should be good enough.

wanna play it like a colonization type of game, not prioritizing into trade/rob/kill.

General Discussion / Will alpha core give station extra fire power ?

As per title, i have limited alpha cores, need to evaluate how to spend them. What alpha core do if i put it on a station (orbital/battle/star fortress) ?

Will it just increase the combat readiness ?

Or its like giving it a captain who has skill that greatly improve the fire power, fire range or tank better ?

Need it to fight 2 waves of enemies, but it seriously damaged after the first wave. We can instantly repair ships at station, but are there anyway to instantly repair station itself ?

General Discussion / AI is too good handling shield

Just started to learn how to pilot a ship in a battle(many ships against many ships), all the while i just let them fight, use overwhelming force to defeat my enemy.

Noticed that enemy AI is too good handling shield, they able to drop shield in the middle of fight, raise it a tiny bit, tank a shot, drop it again. When torpedo coming from behind, drop the shield at the front, then raise it to the back. I think its kind of cheating, their reflect is just too godly.

I think shield should take 2-3x more damage when raising. Their efficiency should be at the lowest during the start, and efficiency slowly increase, to punish dropping and raising in the middle of a fight.

General Discussion / Unable to farm for alpha core

defeat the following fleet like ~10 times(keep loading). the best loot i can get is 3 beta cores, not a single alpha core. I am wondering if there is a limit of how many alpha cores you can have at anytime or it just cant spawn on fleet ?

in need of a few alpha core for managing some planets that im going to colonize.

I have some capital ships with high resolution sensor, i able to detect the enemy in the radar, but im not able to mouse over on it even with right click(pan the map a bit), can see more on the left and right, but not as much on top and bottom, perhaps allow the zoom scale accordingly, when sensor range increase, max zoom or pan range out also increase.

lets say i paused the game, then did some right clicks(unknown times). now before i unpause, i want to make sure the shield will go up cause there is a torpedo will be landing on me in about 2 seconds. how do i know if the shield will go up or not before i unpause ?

Lets say all their planets drop to 0 stability, losing money every month for a long time, does it affect the AI at all ? Do the AI need money ?

Suggestions / Small AI fleet should merge after they lose many ships

There are many single ship fleets flying around, too troublesome to chase them down, cause its not really worth it, but they still cause troubles like expose me when i go dark, or engage me when i fly near their space station.

So i suggest when their fleet size reduced by x amount like 80%, they should join another fleet that has enough space for them, or they should just return home to reform(so the next fleet from the planet able to come out slightly faster).

General Discussion / How to restore stability ?

Captured a planet with -23 stability, raided it like 2 times, i guess other factions also did that, then i invaded the planet.

The stability penalties from raid and pirate activity are permanent ? waited for few months, still the same, i know some building increase certain amount of stability, but i need alot more than all those building add up.

Planet size is 5, cant abandon.
