Modding / Spriting.

   So, I didn't know if I should put this in this sub-forum or General Discussion. Anyways I'll get straight to the point; I want to try out spriting to create my own ships, see what I could do. What program(s) does everyone use? (also sorry if this is a nubcake question; never done any modding besides tweaking stats and ***)

       I'm guessing that AI do not take in account asteroids anymore; since they just run right into them, it's not that big of a problem because the bump damage from asteroids is negligible. But it was still pretty cool how they maneuvered around them like they used to. Also another thing, I think it would be better if the AI took disabled vessels into recognition, so they don't just blindly shoot at something behind it, just to smarten it up. Think you get the picture. ^^

   If I put a space inbetween the ships I want the enemy to have and the ships I want myself to have, does it still work if I put "addShip1("conquest_Elite",)  etc, is it still functionable like that?

Modding / weapon data.csv

   Hey, I'm getting a fatal weapon data.csv error, last time I got this which was in the .35 version I just fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling. This time I'm still getting it and I remember reading something about deleting ALL in that spreadsheet? I tried looking and couldn't figure out what to delete so I figured I might as well ask. Any responses would be appreciated, thanks.

    Is there a way I can go into the files and disable the enemies being able to retreat during RANDOM BATTLES, I'm fine with it in the campaign, got a Dominator, Venture, 3 destroyers and like 7 fighter wings. But I really want to test out how a Paragon Battleship does against a Dreadnaught (Okim's Ironclads mod) I'm pretty sure the Dreadnaught could beat the Paragon save that all the Paragon would have to do is get out of its range and spam Tachyon Lances. But everytime the enemy has a Dreadnaught, and I have a Paragon, they always just end up retreating pretty much right when I start the fight, its really bugging me, and I want to know if I can disable it via editing JAVA files.

    I have no experience in creating new ships and that kind of stuff whatsoever, but what if someone made a mod that included modern day ships/fighters just set in space? I think that would be cool, like Predator Drones, AC 130 Spectre, F-18 Super Hornet etc, I think that would be pretty sweet.
