0.95a-RC9 - no mods

1. Have ship with dmod
2. Open Build in menu
3. Exit Build in menu
4. Dmod can now be removed for free
5. Profit

And yes, the dmod is permanently removed, even after you exit the refit screen. However the ship keeps the (D) tag, though it does nothing

Whenever any ship uses Targeting Feed and potentially other ship systems which influence fighters, the FPS tanks heavily from a solid ~60 to ~5. The lag depends on the number of fighters, I tried it with the Pelagornis class from Missing Ships, and the FPS goes to around 0.5.

I have some mods installed, however I have also observed this issue without mods.

Mods:
- Nexerelin
- Ship/Weapon pack
- Vayra's ship pack
- Missing ships

Operating system is Linux Mint 20. System is I7-377k + R9 390. This could be a Linux specific problem, however I have not tried on Windows.

Not a huge problem for me, I just avoid using these ships, however probably something to have a look at.

Suggestions / Post battle statistics

Statistics screen after a battle with stats about your fleet in total and for each individual ship.

Some suggestions:
  • damage done (hull/armor/shield)
  • damage absorbed (hull, armor, shield)
  • missiles shot down
  • systems broken (with ion or damage)
  • accuracy of guns / hit percentage of missiles fired
  • damage from each weapon on a ship (detailed breakdown)

This could allow you to better analyze the performance of your ships and refits.

Still loving the game after all these years Alex, keep it up :)

Bug Reports & Support / Phase ship bug

Noticed this while recording my latest video, it seems a Afflictor tried to fire its AM blaster but it diddnt fire, it did however build up flux. Seems it cut the shot by phasing in while it was charging up.

Also the Phase ship AI seems to be unaware that it can pass through ships to gain a flanking advantage.

So I was recording for the Nothing Personal Mission Showcase and I found 2 "bugs" I think Alex should know about.

1:

You can assign an Dagger wing to intercept an enemy fighter and it will just buzz around with no weapons to attack with.

2:

If you place an intercept assignment on a ship you can see it through the fog.

General Discussion / "Lost" ship

What happened to this ship? :

(I remember seeing talk about this ship a while ago but I had no luck finding it)

Looks like a really interesting one, kinda like a midline Tempest. From the sprite it looks like there are 2 small ballistic slots one either side, and a missile slot in the front left. That thing on the front right might also be a medium ballistic.

Looks awesome to me, Id figure it has pretty decent speed (but less than the Tempest), and some low degree shields (like 80-100 degrees)

Any information  / other views on this ship?

Suggestions / Scrolling with arrow keys.

Ive just got a school issue computer, and it can run SF. But there is 1 problem. I cant scroll in the menus or scroll further down on the refit list.

Suggestion: Make it so that you can use the arrow keys to navigate the menus aswell.

Or else I cant play Starfarer on the go :(

I was thinking of making a Starfarer series where I showcase different loadouts on different ships. And also take suggestions on what loadouts to try.

I have got the recording stuff done so I can start producing. EDIT: 720p and good audio quality that is.

Would anybody be interested in such a series?

Suggestions / Removing strafe

A while ago I suggested a mod to be set with 15th century war galleons and such warships. But the topic was quickly slaughtered by people saying strafing would make no sense there and such.

The suggestion is this; Make it so that the strafing speed/acceleration would be separated from the forward speed. That way the base game would not change at all, but there could be ships with no strafing and such.

Suggestions / Transfer variants from missions to campaign.

I usually mess around with ship loadouts on ships in the missions before using it in the campaign. But the ones i save dosnt appear in the campaign, and that is a pain sometimes.

What if the player made loadouts also got transfered to the campaign so i could just load them up there? this is by no means a high priority thing, just a little tweek.

Suggestions / Small slot Pilum.

Simple suggestion for a new weapon in a small missile slot; Pilum missile with 1 Pilum per salvo, and it would have about 10 ammo. And something around 3-4 OP.

This would be useful so you wont have to field destroyers or cruisers for just a bit of fire support. More variety and alternatives! Yay!
