General Discussion / Poor Hegemony.

For quite some time now, Hegemony have been at war with practically everybody. 14 out of 19 factions. To the point where most of their planets are a bit knackered and barely selling anything. Smuggling is rife as well, which is a huge issue. Supplies aren't making it anywhere, and they look to be severely struggling.

Is it typical for one faction to be ragged-on for so long? I've seen a few Armistices appear between the others, but not these guys. They've been fighting the Scavs for three months solid now, at Jangala, in-between trying to counter Imperium's relentless onslaught, and getting a right shafting from all sides.

I'm actually planning to join them, but at the moment, I wouldn't be able to move an inch and just get my arse kicked.

How likely is there to be a "peace" period for them to recover slightly? I'm currently on Jun 208 (if that helps put things in perspective at all).

General Discussion / Least favourite/useful weapon?

While kitting-out a ship, I happened to be just thinking about weapons I never use and that sparked a bit of intrigue as to what others think on the subject.

So, what's your least favourite weapon? Or one that you never use? Reasons aren't needed (if you can't be bothered) but feel free to say anyhow. ;D

Mine is the Pilum LRM Launcher.

Why? Well, the range is great but the speed it takes to reach a target is ridiculously-slow and the majority of the time it will get shot down en-route. I've equipped and used it plenty of times (as it's widely-available from the start) in various situations but it has never paid off once.

I'm currently on the Pirates' good side (just, it's around 25-ish) and unable to side with them in battles against other faction fleets.

Is something wrong? Do I need more positive rep? Or can I simply not help them in battles to gain rep?

Thought I'd make my own thread for crashes, instead of posting individual topics and making the place look untidy lol.

It's more to find out what is causing them and to learn about how things work a little. I'm gaining some interest in the possibility of attempting to build a faction some time in the future. Plus, it doesn't hurt to learn a little from time-to-time.

Bug Reports & Support / [0.7.2a] Slowing during battles?

I seem to be experiencing, well, what I can only describe as a "slowdown" during battles. Everything runs fine then the animations will slow by around half speed and back to normal intermittently. I've watched the projectiles and they slow down randomly during firing, so it's definitely the game's overall speed slowing. The amount of ships or effects happening doesn't appear to make a difference either, as I only have a small fleet at the moment.

I've had a look around at other posts and changed a couple of things suggested by others. Such as allowing Java and Starsector.exe on my Nvidia Control Panel. Turning off V-Sync, etc. Even allowed 120fps by editing the config files (which it actually runs at fine on the map, but I still get the slowdown during battles).

The only "mod" I'm running is the Developer Console. Yes, I'm a filthy cheat.

My tower's specs, in case they're needed. Although they are more than sufficient to run any game.
