As the title says, debris fields always look like just old brown scrap, even if they are from a battle that just happened. While it isn't a major issue, just adding flecks of faction paint would be cool.

Another idea I had was to add the ability to refit ships with skins if you have the blueprints for them. For instance, if I had a normal Brawler and Brawler (TT) blueprints, I would be able to swap it to the (TT) skin while docked with a colony.

One more thing, it would be really nice to be able to edit colony planet and docking descriptions to better fit what the player intends the market to feel like.

Many other games have that mascot character/unit/ship/mecha, so I was wondering what the community consensus would be on a representative ship.
Possible candidates from what I've seen:
  • Hound
  • Sunder
  • Onslaught
  • Paragon

General Discussion / HE Point Defense (And other weapon ideas)

I've played starsector since 0.6 came out, and in my time I have continued to wonder why there isn't a HE point defense option. Perhaps it is due to the amount of damage it could do in a ship-to-ship knife fight. I'd think it would be like a flak cannon, but with a weaker splash or shorter range but the benefit of increased DPS. Or maybe it would be a slower firing LMG, trading accuracy and fire rate for increased range (450) and damage.

If anyone has an answer to this, or a suggestion for another weapon, please leave a comment.
