Modding / Return of the Star Wars mod?
« on: December 09, 2019, 06:49:57 PM »
After a very long vacation from this game, (and many updates later) I have finally recovered my License info and was able to reinstall the game. I have started to dust off the previous version of the Star Wars mod, and will begin examining the files and testing what I need to correct to enable the ships and weapons to function within the current version of the game. I may not be able to do much more than simply get the ships themselves functional, and leave it to someone else to integrate them into the game as a faction or even make this a total conversion.

My time is limited, between my new career and schedule, and the impending birth of my second child in about a month. A daughter, if anyone needs to know haha. Either way, i will be working on this, even though it may be a while before anything is released for use. Idea, comments, etc. are very welcome, and I will be reaching out for assistance with coding at some point, as I was never happy with the shield mechanics. (thanks to LazyWizard, a wonky but workable plugin was created to try and address that issue in a previous version)

Please do not pester me with ETA requests, as I have none to offer. I will post a minimum of weekly updates here as I slowly revive this very ambitious project.

Modding / Star Wars Mod Revisited (Project Laser Spam)
« on: July 25, 2013, 07:58:25 AM »
I need an honest opinion from anyone who has tried out the new revision of the Star Wars Mod. I am leaning towards changing the scaling, but I want the community to help me decide. Please vote honestly, to give me the best idea of how to move forward with this project.

Modding / Modding core api files
« on: April 08, 2013, 09:53:24 PM »
Is there any way to make a modification to the core api files located with the starfarer api.zip file in starfarer-core? example is adding a new damage type with relative stats vs shields, armor, hull, and somehow make it so activating the mod adds that? My only thought so far is having players make a backup copy of the file in questtion and manually add the file themselves. clunky method but if no other option presents itself i can make that work

edit: IF thats even allowed for mods at all.

Modding / Data Sheet for weapons
« on: April 07, 2013, 04:13:44 AM »
Im doing some pretty thorough mod work, doing my best to make something reasonably balanced to the vanilla game. However im running into a problem with weapon balancing. Does anyone have or know where to find a spreadsheet that lists the vanilla weapons with the DPS, dmg per shot, flux/sec, and projectile speeds in a comprehensive format? The csv file contains most of that info but its harder to pick out, and i dont want to have to figure the DPS and flux/sec on the fly for every weapon i want to compare it to. Thats the two bits of info i would like to have readily available for comparison, and the only ones not calculated and present in the csv. Any help would be appreciated with this, i have a lot of time already invested, and would like to be able to move forward a little quicker.

Also im new to the forums, and new to forums in general, so bear with me :)
