Hey guys,

I saw a few random threads popping up asking for scripts and plugins, so I was thinking that it might be better if we would gather all requests in one place. It makes organizing these things easier.

Also I would like to gather all scripts and plugins here that are available for the community.
So if you have scripts and plugins that you wish to share, just post them up, I will add them to the list.

Its also a nice way of giving our code-mongerers a bit of credit and exposure.

Chain Lightning Beam Effect : by LazyWizard  - Needs to be attached to a weapon
You need to add a "BeamEffect" to a beamweapon.

Ejecting Escape Pods : by silentstormpt - Needs to be attached to a weapon
You need to add an "everyFrameEffect" to it and link the script. You can configure the amount of pods and when its triggered.

Alright,

as Alex pointed out, it would be really good if we would gather a list of things that are currently not moddable,
but that we would like to mod anyway.

It would also allow us to check if certain things are possible or not and if something similar was already discussed.


Please do not request new features here, try to keep this to things already in the game
that we can't access yet.

- modding the effectiveness of flux capacitors
- MIRV particle generation on split.
- armor distribution
- the way flux venting works
- call message boxes
- engine types
- ship types (hightech etc)
- shield shape (maybe someone wants to use a triangloid shield or an oval one)
- the amount of ship systems
- restrictions for weapons and hullmods
- damage types
- resource editing, like ship supplies
- The base vision range of an unmodified hull (i.e. the range at which a ship clears out fog-of-war)
- In-combat messages.
- the ability to force the AI to switch targets
- API support on the MutableStats for the PhaseCloak
- zero flux engine boost
- Set the duration of floating text
- Give a Vector2f as an anchor for floating text instead of a CombatEngineAPI
- Ability to assign a StatusData to a ship (currently limited to systems and objectives?)

Modding / [Request] two decorative effects.

Hello guys,

I have a request that would help me and potentially the entire community greatly.

Due to the "everyFrameEffect" function that was introduced we have a lot of possibilities
to create interesting new weapons and decorations.

1.) I would like an effect that rotates an image 0-360° and with the ability to tell the effect to go CW or CCW through a tag inside the weapon file.

2:) Secondly an effect that could read an image and jump a certain amount of pixels in a period of time specified in the weapon file.


Both these effects would be very helpful and a lot of new animations could be implemented with them.
We are talking: missile doors, steam venting, radiating radiators, position lights you get the idea.

RECRUITING

1) I am currently looking for people willing to assist me with alpha-testing.
2) It would be appreciated if some of our native speakers could help me fix the inevitable mistakes I made and to assist me fixing the wiki aswell!



PROGRESS

-Lore: most of the universe has been worked out.

-Ships: nearly half of all ships have been implemented

-Weapons: many weapons have been implemented and only some are still in development.

-Systems: some ship systems have been implemented, most are still in development.

-Maps: a few maps have been designed and are currently tested, most of the planned maps have not been touched yet.

-Campaign: the overall concept has been established, most of the campaign is still in planning.


FEATURES

- an original universe rich in lore

- slower more tactical combat

- completely rebalanced and different factions

- smart tactical decisions decide between life and death

- challenging gameplay, that offers a new perspective and tactical options with every new ship

- custom sounds and music

- escape pods and various other fluff material to spice up the space combat


The Universe

The year is 246NTC, Humanity is at war. But Humanity does not face an alien threat or extinction, it faces one if its oldest enemies, itself.

Over 300 years, Humanity worked together to finally reach the stars and to discover the wonders of the universe.
Amazing technological advances, breath-taking art and death-defying bravery are just a few things the people would
associate with the days of old.

However as history taught us, no peace is eternal.

And so in 162NTC, Humanity's first intergalactic conflict was born.



The Factions


The Terran Dominion
is the meritocratic, galactic superpower at home on Humanity's cradle, planet Earth.

Lead by the Senate and the Autarch, the people of Earth and her colonies prosper, having access to the most advanced technology
and almost limitless economic potential.

Their navy is without a doubt the most powerful in the known universe.

The price the people have to pay however is one many would consider too high; their freedom.
Terran society knows next to no civillian life anymore, every man, every women and every child serve the military in some capacity.

The police that protects the people is also the military police, firefighters take care of both military and civillian installations. The engineers that construct orbital dry-docks and planetary defense systems are the same that construct schools or houses.

Every citizen is issued a rank, this is also their position in society, one can be promoted for aquiring a higher qualification, or for performing well at something. Likewise one can be demoted.
Citizens have a distinct limit in things they can request during a month, this system replaced the monetary system present in the early days of Humanity.

One can request more, if one has a higher rank.

They are at war with both the Archduchery of Korin as well as with the Tarkis Hegemony.

The Archduchery of Korin is the product of the fantasies of a very powerful business man, by the name Walter Korin.
It's society has more akin with kingdoms of the old days as it has with the governments of the more recent years.

The people are ruled by the nobles, who are ruled by his Excelancy Walter Korin.
Nobility also provides the military leaders, with his Excelancy having supreme power.

Scholars and Patricians are respected civillians with a lot of influence within the Duchery's borders.

Over 96% of the population consist out of ordinary citizens, who are builders, soldiers and basically everything else the duchery needs.
Founded on the colonies owned by Korin Industries, most of the citizens are former employees and are fiercly loyal to the company/nobility.

Most of the Ducherys planets are gaia-planets, or more commonly known as paradise-planets.

They are at war with the Terran Dominion.

The Tarkis Hegemony was founded by former Dominion forces, lead by Admiral Chrisitan Cromwell and his collaborators.
The forces rebelled against the policy of Earth when it was clear that personal freedom was at risk.

Ironically this lead to the total militarization of Earths society, because the Hegemony was threatening everything the people of Earth were working for.
The Hegemony received help from varies colonies, that had suffered much under Earth's rules.

Most of its citizens are former soldiers or freedom fighters who believe that Earth lost its way.

Lead by the Admiralty Board and the Peoples Assembly, they consider themself the guardians of freedom. Because their society tries to
provide their citizens with as much freedom as possible, its also a haven for smugglers and pirates.

They are at war with the Terran Dominion.
