It just seems like Starfarer still needs a chat, so why not IRC? It is free so there shouldnt be a problem 
Just join the channel "#Starfarer" on the server "quakenet" and share your thoughts
But remember, this is NOT officialy, so dont create topics here if you have problems with this chat. If you have some, just send me a PM with your IRC username and your Quakenet nick / or msg me directly via #Starfarer, i will try to answer asap.
If you want to use the Client:

Or just "klick here ( No registration needed )
Choose your nick,
then click connect, and done
Forum mods / Dev's sure gets operator status as soon as they verify themselves via PM here on the forums.
And if you dont want that i host this channel, i surely delete it.
