Did anyone else realize that firing large groups of non-beam weapons (particularly on capships) can sound like a catchy beat? on an Onslaught try 2
hypervelocity drivers,2 mark IXs and some assault guns.

So far I'm loving the new update, haven't been on this site in quite some time. But I was wondering, what is a good way to get into more fights? so far I have over 200k credits and 3 ships, a Hammerhead, a Wolf and a Lasher. I am able to take on fleets 3 times my size, but It seems there are less pirates in this new version, is there a way I can kill more stuff without *** off the factions who could sell me ships?

Discussions / Dreamkeepers (graphic novel/webcomic)
« on: August 19, 2014, 11:48:59 AM »
http://www.dreamkeeperscomic.com/ Dreamkeepers is one of my favorite comics of all time, the website does a much better job of explaining the story than I could, But I'll try anyway. The premise of the story is basically that each living human has a counterpart in the "Dreamworld" called a Dreamkeeper, the beings in the Dreamworld are not aware of us, and we are not aware of them. Your Dreamkeeper is supposed to fight off nightmares who are a malevolent force who can cross in to either dimension, and seek to destroy all sentient life. To fight them, every Dreamkeeper has a unique power, unfortunately, in the city the story takes place in, power usage is banned by the government, and That's basically where it starts off. There are currently 3 graphic novels released and a 4th is on it's way sometime in December, the graphic novels are accompanied by a free weekly webcomic, called Prelude, which is basically a look at what the characters were doing years before the main story started, it is much more lighthearted than the graphic novels are (they can be very dark at times). Most of the art in the comic is fantastic, that's all I got to say, check it out :).

I found a neat little game in which you can build a robot KSP style. It can be any type you want, a bomber, fighter, a tank, a buggy or a blimp. You can then compete in TDM type matches against others, it's pretty fun so far. You can register and download the alpha for free here. http://robocraftgame.com

NMRiH is a HL2 tactical zombie survival mod, think Left 4 Dead only with slow zombies and a lot harder. Ammo and guns are very scarce and body shots on zombies are almost useless, and you can't swing the larger melee weapons very often without getting tired. There are status effects like bleeding and infection, dead players also become AI zombies after death :). And there are lots of community made maps and skins for characters on the official forums. Good fun with friends if you don't mind how difficult it can be sometimes.

General Discussion / How to download Starsector to my new computer?
« on: March 08, 2014, 05:09:17 PM »
I recently built a gaming PC and I would like to download Starsector to it. Is there a way to play the game on multiple computers or would I have to purchase a second time?

I recently got myself actual gaming PC, and I've been wanting to try out some games. Particularly FPS-TPS since I've got my space combat fix with X3, StarSector and others. If you have experience with one or more of these games, and could recommend them, then go ahead. :)

Discussions / X3:Reunion, I'm in love
« on: March 21, 2013, 07:10:09 AM »
I got X3:Reunion for my Macbook, and it runs on highest settings (who knew?), So far I've got a heavy transporter/carrier ship, and a few fighters. I plan to build a few BoFu factory stations and sell BoFu meals (like tofu in space). I usually HATE micro-management in games, but in this one It's just addicting and pure fun. I've been using the built-in script editor to make some fun stuff, and it's just been a joy to play. I love taking control of the carrier, and then switching to a fighter in first person and launching, it feels like Battlestar Galactica. And never gets old, you can even eject and spacewalk in a spacesuit to change ships (like capturing disabled ships, muahah).\
It's just so fun :D.

In this thread I thought we could share some crazy things that happened in CC, I'm gonna start: my robot rocket packed through the air, and landed on an enemy soldier's head, smashing it, then he pulled out his shotgun. And blasted the nanite rifle from another enemy's hands and then with another shell, he blasted his head into red mist  ;D.

Discussions / Star jelly, sky whales and cloud jellyfish
« on: January 07, 2013, 10:13:40 AM »
Star jelly is a white-grey translucent jelly, that supposedly falls during a meteor shower. It is unknown what exactly it's made of, but analysis prove it to be masses of bacteria. This brings me to the next thing I'd like to post about, "atmospheric beasts" which is basically the idea that a whole ecosystem of flying\floating creatures lives in Earth's atmosphere, or more generally speculated, to be living in the atmosphere of a gas giant. Most  People who believe is sky beasts, also believe that the "star jelly" is actually the remains of a dead air jellyfish, which is almost believable, considering that the flesh of some sort of jellyfish (especially one lacking a central nervous system), would be quite similar to the star jelly. So just something I wanted to post, I personally don't believe in them, but the idea is very interesting... ;D
