Suggestions / Please improve the pathing around stars.

I get that the autopilot basically just straight lines you at your destination. And if you end up in a star's corona, it will try to move you around it. Thing is, it should path around it to begin with. Within X range of a star, it starts the path around, and then continues straight when there's no more obstruction.

General Discussion / Is it worth switching from Colossus to Atlas?

I've got 10 Colossus in my fleet to lug my crap around. I've gotten the chance to pick up some Atlas.
Just wondering if it's worth the "upgrade"? Atlas definitely has more space, but also comes with the increased cost (and is slightly slower it seems). Would it be worth it?

I mean, when I've picked up a third person who has the same portrait, it's a little annoying. I'd like to be able to change them.

Was just thinking that it's kind of silly how the second a fleet we've been right up to and identified moves just a bit away from us, it's suddenly an "unidentified signature". I mean, we know exactly what it is, we just saw it.
I think it would make sense that the more sensor strength we have, the longer we keep things we've seen identified. That would go for fleets, derelicts, stations, debris, etc...
I mean, in space future, you'd figure the computers would be good enough to keep a flag on everything we've seen. Even if it shows up as something like "Last Scanned" (so a fleet we've seen that moves out of range stays showing how we last saw it, with the "Last Scanned" tag). When we get closer again, we could see any updates (like if the fleet composition changed).


Just seems to silly to have the memory of a goldfish with these things.

Would we be able to get a borderless window mode (or borderless fullscreen or whatever you call it)?
That's how I prefer to play things, as I tend to have videos playing in the background while I play and alt-tab a lot.

I know I can improve my sensor range, so I'm able to spot fleets and objects from further and further away. But is there a way to improve how far away you can identify things? Or do I always have to fly up close to be able to see just what something is?

I see people talking about unique ships and rare tech and such out there... where do you find such things?

Right now, I'm mostly just cruising around slapping pirates for bounties.


What sort of ships are good to look for early game?
What are these Remnant? I came across a few looking for a pirate bounty.
How do you get quests for factions? Or do I just look at what bounties and such are on the intel screen and do that? Also do I have to talk to someone to claim bounties? So far I've just been getting money for killing stuff, and selling things.

Because I can engage a single one of the two fleets, but I get destroyed (lose all ships, lucky if I can take out one).
I SUCK at piloting myself. But the AI doesn't seem to do any better if I let it control the fight.


I try to pick off a single ship at a time, but my ships get torn to pieces.

From all that I see, it seems that the game's focused on getting bigger and bigger fleets. More of a focus on huge battles than little skirmishes and personal battles.
How much can you do with a small fleet or as one good quality ship?


Also, do I have to start colonies and do all that stuff? Is that the intended end game?
Or is there more of a free roaming mercenary option?
