General Discussion / More Diplomacy?

Clarification first: using Nexerelin, TASC, Diable Avioniks, Roider Union and a few more Faction/Weapon/Ship Mods.

Is there an Option (Vanilla, Nexerelin or otherwise) to engage more in Diplomacy, like actively seeking an Alliance with [X] and starting a Vote for declaring war etc. against [X]?

If this Option already exists I might have not seen it yet since I'm fairly new. If there is a Mod for that I'd be grateful for suggestions.

Except for supplies, fuel and a handful of weapons, all of this was found in a single system (minor weapons cache, research and mining station).
Not bad at all.
