Modding / Thrust into SPACE!!!

OK, so I was chilling, watching some anime, when suddenly I came up with an interesting idea for a mod, what if we make a mod where Earth is thrust into the universe in a time slightly in the future. We would have four different types of ships, Chinese, Russian, American, and European, however, all of these ships would be part of a single faction. Then we would create a few other factions, say a couple of alien factions and another human like faction, and let the fun begin, would anyone be willing to help me out here? I can't code and can only kit-bash, but I can churn out ideas and descriptions like crazy. So if I had a team with the skills I do not have, we could make this mod, or another one easily. PM me if you want to help, or post, also opinions?

I'm building a neutrino fleet and am about to buy my second capital ship, should I but the lathe class or the banshee class? The lathe has neutron lances, but the banshe has more flexability. I can fully outfit both ships, but crew cost wise the lathe will need less crew, and has the same cargo capacity, but the banshee has better flux in general, and better hull and armor, but worse shields.

Bug Reports & Support / Fighter Repair bug

Very rare, only happens when the fighters are about to leave the docking bay and ahve used supplies to repair themselves but aren't on the battlefeild, you winn and the fighters are still damaged, so they then use another set of supplies to repair themselves. thus, you lose 30 suppplies when you should only lose 15

So right now we have one system and a few tracks of music, I was just chiling out, with the game running, but with the menu open so that I could hear the msic, when an idea popped into my head, what if we had a number of sound tracks for the major factions and if a system had one of those factions in it than the music connected to that faction would be playing, and if two factions were in a system than a mixture of their tracks would play, etc. Could this work? or would anyone even want this?

I just had one of the coolest moments ever (for me) in Starfarer like five minutes ago. So I was playing Uomoz's Corvus and flying the Sickle from junk pirates, I had been shot at with a pilum and I ran into a asteroid on accident...I mean purpose and the asteroid intercepted two of the three missiles!

I'm pretty sure everyone has had some awesome (or funny) moments, so please share!

Suggestions / Frigates

I was wondering why they should not benefit from the nav and sensor bonuses. If they don't won't smaller battles with those bonuses mean that an all frigate fleet is non-viable if the enemy has two destroyers? Also, Medusa's will eat frigates for breakfast, lunch and dinner if the frigates can't get that bonus. I would take one medusa with bonuses over a fleet of four frigates anyday. Just want other people's thoughts on the change.

So say someone had a great idea for a mod, but had no ability with coding or spriting, but that some one had sketched some ship ideas (well a bunch) and was willing to give them to someone to sprite and someone else to code, than the origional person would write up descriptions for all this stuff and create the lore etc. Would people be willing to help out or should I just give up and cry in a corner because the internet is mean?

I guess the point of this mod will be to create a faction and insert them into the game, but I would not mind if this idea was absorbed as long as I got to participate (and of course got credit for my brilliant work).

Lore (so far)

In the corvus system there is a dire problem, pirates of all shapes and sizes are not only attacking mining vessels, but are begining to mine themselves! So as to prevent their destruction both economicly and life wise, the mining guild modified a portion of it's fleet and fought back against the pirates. The Guild drew from old and new times, the old times ships had better armorand usually more ballistics while the new timers had better flux, shields, and engines.

General Discussion / Correct brawler usage

So I know how everyone hates the brawler as a starting ship, I do too, but if you include a brawler in a fleet it is actually really good. I have had success with a double heavy mg and double harpoon with extra ammo on both. This combo can bring down lashes and condors very quickly, and just about anything else with a shield. Also using light escort gives the needed fire defense, but the brawler is surprisingly maneuverable and you can eat missiles with your shields if you fly it well. Thoughts? Rage? Disdain?
