Bug Reports & Support / 0.65.1a Strange Intel Behavior

I've just downloaded and installed some mods, so stop me now if any of them might screw up Intel... but I don't get how they could  ??? ???

- LazyLib
- Common Radar
- Version Checker


Two things happened. First, I left Eos and set a course to Corvus. I received no Intel for a long time (1+ week), then suddenly a bunch of Intel happened all at once. Here is a screenshot, and I have a save file if you'd like.

Second, a month later, I am getting messages about "food shortage relief fleet" arrival at Skathi... but there was never a message about the food shortage to begin with, nor a message about the relief fleet being sent!

I tried to disable the mods and reload my save... same things happened.

Bug Reports & Support / 0.65.1a Variant / Simulation Crash

My save is no longer able to run a Simulation on any ship - the game crashes immediately. I will send you the save file just in case that helps! I don't have any mods installed. Do let me know if you think of a way I can try to repair my save... no simulation is a bummer.

My ship had two variants, "Custom" and "Custom II". In one swoop I deleted these two variants, then saved my current variant with the name "Custom". When I clicked the Export button this is what the game showed me:

Suggestions / Early-game difficulty (I like where it is)

0.6.2a may bring us an easier early-game. I personally oppose anything other than a very minor change, because to me the early game is currently one of the best parts of vanilla Starsector, especially in Iron Mode.

It is the most intense part of the game; you're fighting for your life and your ship piloting skills are at a premium. You have to pick your fights carefully, not just say "well where is the closest fleet I can prey upon." You can't buy your way out of every mistake, nor can you rely on your enormous late-game character skills which, in some cases, ensure you have a hero fleet.

In conclusion, without a plot or economy or adventure, Starsector in its current form needs the harrowing early-game. Take your pre-buffed ship and be happy, imo  :)

Modding / Combat map question for modders

Is there an easy way to change the combat map back to empty space? Having a planet hanging out in the battle at all times distracts me from looking at the ships and their stats.
