I got that crash today as well.  In my case I joined a battle in progress with a friendly space station+ships against pirates.
Me, too, but here's the strange part.
I tried it a few times, it crashed every time.
But then, since it was 2 fleets, I tried figthing one before the "siege", and ti did not crash.

and it always crash when I try to join battle against pirate
Me, too, but I was in the battles against the pirates before, so I'm not sure why.

This mod is so good, I don't feel worthy of playing it.

Working on the rework of the Xu sprite and showing part of it here, and keep in mind it is still highly WIP.

First of all, one of my favorite mods. Its the one that always gets added first. Both the ships are great and it doesn't intrude too much if you're not playing as them. Great!

I've been playing a Diable Fleet, and while I love the cruisers and destroyers, I never feel like I can figure out the right frigates for my Wolfpack. The Sleet shield power seems to be very inconsistent but it doesn't have the quality slots to effectively be a ship with no ability. The little Vapor seems solid but maybe a bit fragile.  The Draft is maybe the best Luddic Path style fire and forget suicide frigates. Its weapon layout really is monstrous.

Does anyone have any late game success with Frigate Spam with Diable? Suggestions?
I also tried late game Frigates, but it did not work for me. Well, not any better than vanilla, at least.

Could we have some new teasers? Love your work, no point in rushing perfection.

I am not sure the other one ever drops normally, either.

As far as I can see, only difference is that one has a mantle.

The description says that this is compatible with Unknown Skies, but Archipelago World is not considered a "water world", so much of the terraformation options are locked off for me. Is there a way around this issue?

I joined Starsector Discord just to follow any updates on this mod. I don't want the dev to feel pressured, but should definetly know there are a lot of fans.
