I love this mod, and I've played with Diable Avionics more than with any other faction since its original release. Still, something bothers me with the two Gust ships. While their ship system is fun but sort of useless from a player perspective, when in AI hands their ship system is just purely useless.

Have you thought about giving the controlled wing a buff of some sort? Since the Heron's targeting feed gives +50% damage to its 3 wings, wouldn't it be fair to maybe make the gusts' ship system give +100% damage to the one single wing they have available?

It would give me more of a reason activate it beyond the cool factor of the first time when I'm controlling one of these ships too.

Also, I don't know if you've ever tried it, but slapping a 90 arc weak (600 to 800) omni shield onto the Frost wanzers gives them an amazing feel. I would love to see an official upgraded version with that for a higher OP cost at some point.  :D

Did you change the toggles at the top of the file to true? They're there as as a catch-all. I've added a note to the FAQ and the next version will have a note in the file itself.

I tried changing the settings.json file so as to make the 0-flux bonus happen below 5% instead of 1% (because otherwise a carrier cannot send their fighters to engage without losing it), and the point defense total anti-fighters bonus to 60% but neither changes happen, even after starting a new game.

Am I doing it wrong?

My feedback:

First, I must say it feels good to play with BlackRock again. I bought Starsector some 4 or 5 years ago, when it was first made available for purchase, and your mod has since become my favorite by a significant margin, and that's saying something when considering the wealth of talented modders on these boards (Tartiflette ftw!).
I think it had been 1 year and a half since I last got my hands on the Nevermore... I was giddy with joy when I first did yesterday after such a long time. :P

By the way... Is the Nevermore B no longer a thing? :(

I see a few BlackRock weapons still have an ammunition count. Are these legacy elements meant to be changed or there by design (The Medium Scalaron Blaster for instance) ?

The fighters:

The Krait does feel much much powerful than every other fighter you have available from BlackRock in my experience. But some are just as good if not better already in the base game (warthog indeed says hello) so I can't blame you. Fighters in every mod feel pretty damn OP in general. If I wanted to min max I would only ever get carriers in this version of the game.

The Mosquito feels maybe a little weak. My mosquitos seemed to have trouble getting back to my carriers quickly enough for a refill. It might have had to do with their extreme speed; they turned around their motherships for a while before actually docking/

The Vespa missed their torpedoes on immobile, large ships 2/3 of the time. That's... quite an extreme miss rate. Seemed to me the speed/manoeuvrability of the craft was the issue again. They couldn't properly align with their targets before firing.

I didn't really try the others yet, so I'll do that before I say more. :)

Oops. My bad.

So I changed it to my default resolution and "uncommented" it (googled that after vohk mentioned it hehe), and it now works indeed like a charm! Problem solved. For me and now anyway.

I tried your new build Alex and it unfortunately doesn't fix the problem. The problem being exactly what Dark Revenant described.

I wanted to try a few new mods after a week of not playing, and now I got this problem as well. I removed the few new mods (Templars, Dassault-Mikoyan, Interstellar Imperium) and it still happens. So it's almost certainly a driver/update problem.

I'm guessing it's on Java's end, considering it's using 30+% of my CPU during the slowdown.

BTW, running starsector.bat does absolutely nothing in my case besides launching a console and ending it within a tenth of a second.

PS: I only have one monitor, 144Hz, no Gsync or anything like that. And on a Radeon R9 290x. Nothing changed there between the last time it worked and the moment it didn't.
