Nexerelin is good because it gives you the option to start with a bigger fleet, and the salary does help. Remember that you can tell allied fleets to follow you for free - you can drag around a big escort as you attack a station!

Of all the mods you have, Dynasector increases the early game difficulty most imo - it gives a really nice variety of ships to fight mid/late game, but early game pirates armed with top tier weapons are a nasty surprise that ends in either retreat or fleet wipe.
I am loving Nexelerin so far. It has made this game bearable for me hehe. Makes it feel like I am playing one of the "X Series" games trying to conquer the sector.

I actually just added Nexelerin and it has a salary mechanic so that seems to be helping pay the bills. I shall have to install this version checker. Thanks for the help.

Hello guys, I am relatively new here. I have been creeping around since 2012 but Recently(Relatively) made an account. I am curious if anyone else is having trouble doing anything in this game like I am. I am taking on pirates with bounties of 40k and sometimes I win sometimes I lose. However, the money I earn immediately gets all spent on repair costs and refueling costs. The cost of living is incredibly expensive, I am even playing on easy mode. I do have Starsector+ and several other mods enabled so that may be it. The game certainly felt easier when I first played it.

Download link is available, but incorrectly labelled.

However, my advice is not to use these 3 mods until they have been properly updated.

In the mean time, may I encourage you to read this thread to help you with your mod playthrough?

What is it labeled as? The only links I see are for 0.6.2 or something and when I try to run the game it crashes and tells me the logo is missing or some nonsense.
Looks like he took the download links down for his version. Oh and the logo error is because you are downloading the old 6.2 version, Basically just ignore this mod as it is OP as all hell and the modder doesn't fix stuff
That is incredibly unfortunate as Homeworld in the Starsector universe would be quite awesome to experience. But ty for the reply

That worked wonderfully, I Probably should have checked the save file beforehand lolz. Thanks a lot.

Since it was just the file, any clue what could have done it? Or might it have just been stress from all the mods that caused it to corrupt?

Well this is embarrassing  :-[

My level 39 characters save done got messed up some way some how. The game starts fine and I can load in to other saves fine. Also all of the mods on the save are active. My game is being run in administrator mode on windows 7.

However, when I try to load in to my level 39 toon it tells me to check my mods because something could possibly be wrong....
Here is what it says exactly:
Error loading saved game:
Error loading game. See Starsector.log for details.

It's possible that the save game is from an
incompatible version, or was created with modes

If anyone could give me hand that would be nice :)
If not it's not a big deal to just use a command console mod to get back to where I was.

Thats a pretty good idea. I started using the map that shows where prices are high and low and what the demand and supply of each is. VERY useful, I actually didn't know that was in the game lolz. I have been doing a bit of trading and got up to around 450k then bought some frigates for defense, a tug, as well as some extra freighters. All is going well now my friend. Thanks again, and I agree that a guide would prolly be hard to keep up to date in alpha.

Hello! I have been playing this game for a bit and I can't figure out why I can't make money. I try to buy low and sell high but that never works for me. I buy from a place that has 5000 food and sell to a place that has 10 food and I end up losing 28,000 credits. Plus the costs for traveling usually end up too high. Though that may just be because I am using a modded faction(Or several ;)) I have tried killing pirates but that does not get me anywhere, the repairs usually end up costing me more than I make.

Anybody able to help me figure out if my game has some sort of space famine or if it is just that I suck at the game lol
