Highly recommend the game Endless Sky on steam for anyone who likes Star sector, it isn't as detailed and i guess deep as Starsector but it really can be fun sometimes and the scale can be a lot bigger. It's also free :D

I think i'll try my luck with that, then i'll play around with mods on a new universe.

I'm just now (lol) coming to terms that I should start treating my ships as consumables and not care when they explode and just build new one. Atm just killing pirate and pather bases to balance my story points against hegemony inspection fleets but defeating every other faction expeditions - and then killing their bounties against pirate/path bases to restore reputation.

I've yet to find the astral blueprint. Is there any other blueprints I should aim for? spoiler tag if necessary.

[full vanilla game] So i'm at a point now where I have 3 size 6 colonies raking in a total of 350k credits a month and now my bank balance is climbing in the 20 millions faster now, i'm starting to run out of ways to spend credits.

Spoiler
I've completed the Galatia Academy story and the other smaller redplanet story, is there any other story i'm missing out on? atm i'm just flying around activating gates
[close]

The only thing i'm missing is a pristine nano-forge, but I think I've got almost every other major industry add-on and tons of A.I. Cores, not sure what else is there to aim for?

I just found another thing, when fighters dock back  at their carrier you can even see their size warp down into tiny size as they disappear into the carrier bay.

6
The size of the ships are totally abstracted and iconized on purpose for gameplay reasons, I believe the best/most believable "Media/Literature" on the sizes between combat ships and fighters would be Legends of the Galactic Heroes, capitals were around 1km a piece and fighters would be several tens of meters large, they would look tiny compared to capitals. Carriers were also able to launch hundreds of fighters potentially.

Oic, and yes haha it was food shortages which is what I some how remember. My mistake to assume that dinosaur systems need not apply when talking about half decade later builds.

I look forward to what you'll do with that placeholder regardless.

I am a bit distressed that after 400 views no one else seems to notice the same? or is it just me?

What happened to major events? I recently came back to this game after more than 5 years, I recall that major events were some random elements thrown in that gave the player lucrative opportunities, but now in this latest version, after playing for a couple days now, despite the intel section still classifying these events, I've yet to encounter one.

Can it be designed to "monopolize focus" ? I wonder what Alex, the developer has to say about this.

Why is this discouraged?

Can we unpause while looking at the map? purely a quality of life feature but I'd love to get a whole overview of the system traffic while travelling say across a solar system, I notice that technically this is already possible by just spamming the map button on and off, and the UI elements already move accordingly - and [spacebar] isn't used for anything while on the [tab] map view.

Hi guys n gals, I've just returned to the current version of the game, and I must say, congratulations Alex! your game is excellent and I've had many tens, probably nearing the 100 hour mark playing it, I can easily see this game becoming huge when you finish it and throw it into the wind  8)

Anyway, that aside, if you see the pic related (Click the picture)
Is the "orders" tab grayed out for me because this isn't feature complete yet or is my colony not developed enough with the right equipment. The reason i'm mainly asking is because it is hinted that you can command your fleets to invade other solar systems etc and actually conquer other planets (if you check the naming and phrasing scheme system when you make your colony name)

So which is it?
