Hmmm. When exactly? Right now?

because, well, i hope it won't be the standard p2w procedure most f2p games go by now.

Yeah I can go right now, honestly looking for an outfit and such. It doesn't appear to be P2W in beta, and you seem to be able to unlock all weapons and such with in game currency too.

Sorry I haven't been super active by the way, just got back to univeristy, you know how things are in the first few weeks. Starting to slow down and get into a routine now though so I should be able to finish off the Aegis and the rest of that fleet eventually.

Hey guys, I was just looking up makeup bags, and I totally came across this one that you will just adore.
Spoiler

Its got black satin, and a fantastic zipper, much better than those button designs.

OT: Game looks pretty cool, though the website is ugly as all hell. I'm broke so I can't fund it but I'll keep a close eye, love me some building simulation games. Though really OP, bit cheeky to come on a forum for a game in development and start totting another one you want funded.

1 in 10,000 doesn't sound good.

Jokes aside, there was a translating error on the mayan calendar. It's not doomsday, it's a new beginning.

I heard that it was simply them basically converting to a different system, someone used the example from imperial to metric and such, and we basically blew it massively out of proportion, as the public tends to do.

Wish granted, but the case is too small and so it constantly overheats meaning you can't run anything.

I wish my computer was Skynet, and not evil.

It isn't going to happen, and if it does, I won't care. Because I'll be dead, and frankly in that situation, unless it was said space ship survival, I would want to be dead. Who would want to really survive in a Fallout-esque world? You'd likely just die of some nasty disease anyway.

Journey is a very nice "art" game. It's more of a story and an experience than a game.

OT

I've seen both sides of the fence, at college I'm surrounded by people who view games and gamers in a very positive light. But I've also been around people who treat games like the plague.

Personally, I think games are a "good thing", but there is no denying the negative impact games can have on a person or a society.

Honestly I don't see these negative impacts, no more than any other form of entertainment. In fact there was a chart somewhere that with the slow release of more violent games, violent crimes have decreased. I just don't see the argument there, people would be like they are without games, they were just find a different way to express it.

Where did you get that trailer music from? :D

If my internet skills haven't failed me, I believe it's EVE.. Inferno?

Very nice trailer by the way.

My thoughts:

Option 1
Along with Attack, Defend, and Escape, a fourth option Call Reinforcements (and possibly Distress Signal if attacked by pirates). This checks the game world for nearby allies (and neutral, if pirates) and their distance. If they are within a certain minimum distance, they may respond (depending on factors such as fleet sizes, fleet comp - a fuel convoy won't save you - and current damage). The distance from the player dictates how many minutes the player must wait for the third party to arrive and deploy ships.

I think this option is quite robust, and offers much more protection around some of the main planets too (No more pirates jumping behind the main fleet to attack you when you just start.)

Yeah I like this idea, of course there should be an auto resolve for people that don't want to get involved in it, but it would be pretty interesting to be able to conquer planets yourself, and hell possibly even orbital bombardments? Lots of possibilities here, especially for modding.

Said I'd post it once it was done but, I lied, I think I might call it quits for tonight though, needs more/better weapon locations and some tidying up here and there on edges, and the odd bit doesn't look quite right. What do you guys think, for a first kitbash? I call it the Aegis.

You forgot Battleships Forever, maybe Captain Forever too. Played all of these though, hated Flotilla, pity too it was quite promising. Kind of the same with Nexus, everything about the game apart from the gameplay was awesome, it was just far far to slow and boring, something along the lines of Starfarers campaign would have worked wonders for it. And Homeworld, oh how I love Homeworld.

Just stopped playing FTL now, great game, so hard.
