I do hope progress is continuing on this mod, I always appreciate mods with a strong style even in the early stages.

Also are you planning to do some quests/story or flat faction on release?

Most likely just a flat faction on playable beta with the intention of adding some quest or story later.
It won't be on complete release for quite a while.

Hey! Kumo here, I'd like to say thank you to the nice reception this has gotten, I was afraid of something untowards.
The first batch of the ships shown above are still work in progress and some changes to the sprites are expected along with our weapons.
Meanwhile, we have our first batch of potraits as well, just for early access people for now.

We are the Savaksky Union and you will embrace Glorious Liberation.
An upbeat Soviet-themed faction with North Korea-like ironic monarchy.
A strong focus in energy weapons and missiles will carry the might of the liberation.
Their ships aesthethics are reflective of the golden age of soviet space aviation mixed with generous dash of sci-fi.

Note: This is a one-shot ship mini-pack containing two ships and one fighter and nothing else, there is lore though!

The Count's tale is as ordinary as they go, an overly ambitious pirate captain with a streak of luck, but his pirating days doesnt last forever. Crossed path with the wrong kind of sorts even for the pirates and with bounty hunters chasing him the man that would be known as 'The Count' turned tail and fled to the rim of the known sector.
His tale however did not end there, beset upon bounty hunters upon bounty hunters and at a time even stumbled into a secret luddic path base in the middle of nowhere, his ships, patience and sanity is eroding fast, he even thought of taking the bullet himself but alas, it was not to be.
He stumbled upon an ancient structure, its markings shows the mark of the crumbled domain era of the long past. There he saw the titanic forges still yet ready for one last operation, all they need is materials.
Thinking fast and with no other real option, he opted to sacrifice his only combat capable ship (he kept his Dram thank you very much, he's desperate not stupid), Honestly, he expected a piece of junk to came out from the ancient forge, or if he's lucky a junk that will sell well in the black market.
He however did not expect the forge to spew not one, but two new ships that he never seen before, their hulls oddly bulbous...

It have been two decades since, alot of things have changed but even more things stayed the same, the man who is now known as The Count can only watch from his highrise building in Kazeron and sigh, all this wealth and power and none of it matter to the galaxy at large. at least he got a wife, a daughter and secured a decent sum for his lineage, not bad for a former pirate.
Those two ships really set him for life, Had he sold the ships directly he'd be rich but not that rich, but he managed to coax the ancient forge to spew him the blueprints too and that, is a gold mine.

If only his daugther could stop messing around with these 'holonet idol' bussiness and inherit his shipworking bussiness, she's already 20 for Ludd's sake!

Ships:

The features of these ships are stronger armor, slower reaction time, and low crew size, stradling the qualities of low-tech but not quite.
The ships are available in Midline and CNT special variants, the variants have access to a single defence drone to help with combat.


BadBat™ Defence Drone
Spoiler
A modern defense drone, produced and used specifically for the Count's fleet.
 BadBat™ are heavy-duty shielded drone with the capability of point defense and strike using its Atropos payload.
 Unable to operate independently outside the Count's combat network, the drone is an easy target for the enemy but an effective escort unit for its accompanying ship.

Maron Class Destroyer

Pioneering an experimental casted hull consruction mechanic, Maron-class destroyers are heavy and cumbersome line ship of its class.
 Boasting exceptional armor for its size and damage dampening system, Maron-class destroyers mostly intended to function as an automated ship but the collapse and the following AI Wars prevented that line of progress. The former AI core housing serve as the ship's protected bridge.
The methods of its construction also made true mass production truly prohibitive as the entire ship's hull are required to be casted in one piece, and a cast of that size require truly specialized industrial facility, however some allowances and modification to the blueprint are made post-collapse to ease production.

Lucien Class Auxiliary Cruiser

An experimental casted hull auxiliary cruiser, Heavily armed for its role and size, The Lucien are almost a jack of all trade interm of cargo capacity, the ability to carry fuel for the fleet and its spacious living quarters. Intended to function as an automated flagship to lead a fleet of Maron class Destroyers on a multirole taskgroup. It was nevertheless delayed due to the complexity of its construction, and after the collapse the housing of the AI cores are used as a command room and bridge of the ship.

The casting methods of armor have been known since the dawn of metalworking, but to apply it on a scale the size of a starship is the height of folly as the ship is unnecessarily expensive, heavy and cumbersome. To compensate for this, a missile autoforge were added to supply the cruiser with more staying power.
