It should, the general changes done in the new release don't touch or change the basic game parameters from what I have read. But if you encounter any issues let me know and I will test in in 97 as I haven't had a chance at the moment.

ah ok :)
maybe someone can make that idea into a plug to help me lol :)

Try playing with this AI: https://colab.research.google.com/drive/1OG-t4snVisfZoMcmRCPmgJjjtwdJCIIj

It runs on a Python 3 Google Compute Engine backend (GPU).

It's UI is not very user friendly at first, but it can do some really amazing things without any limitations. Just press the Play button and wait for the command line to generate the public link to access the prompt (be patient with its cloud installation process when you run it the first time). It has a lot of hidden features, you just have to dig a bit for them.

hi foxy, there are cool images here,
thanks for making some videos about how you made them - as someone who is interested in dabbling with graphics, but cant make much on my own lol, im sure it will help. (for some of my rimworld mods like rimside recycling, ive just been asking to use other people gfx which i then modify, rotate and recolour etc - even reused a smurf lol in a pirate hat :) (one day i'll be able to make a starsector mod too)

in your post above you were asking for help, and after seeing your video about using stable diffusion, maybe this "idea" can help you indirectly? (like you could use your stable contacts to bounce the idea around and then someone might be able to actually make it work like that :)

the idea was this:

"
if there is an addon for stable diffusion that lets you give it a small drawing of a shape, for it to make some images for you (along with text inputs etc)
then why not this idea:

you give it a promt image (picture or hand drawn doodle etc)
then when it generates somethings and you find one you like
a new plugin lets you have 3 "brushes" that you can use to "highlight/circle" areas on the image it gave you, as follows:

1) MUST KEEP this area
2) MUST CHANGE this area
3) MUST LOSE this area

then, the ai simply recreates a new batch of image/s, with your choices/rules in mind.
so anything part of the creation that you liked, it will Keep, such as a head/helmet area in 1)
anything you generally accepted in locations marked as 2) are kept (but changed into something else), eg maybe you liked having an object on the shoulder pads but wanted a diffeent verion of pads.
and then for 3) anything you didnt want to be part of the forground/character etc, it would remove and blend it into the background etc. (such as it added a shoulder bag)

i think having these simple designations for different (and multiple) areas of a picture, will help users quickly highlight things they want, dont want, and things they want variations for ;)

"
Hehe, thank you super much for your enthusiastic reply. I do find it enlightening, through I am a digital painter and I mainly use AI for prototyping or doing voluminous renders that would take too much time to do by hand.
Stay awesome!

Love your mod so far, I just wish there was a way I could toggle things off. While I love the player faction changes, I don't like some soundtracks you've included and I dislike some very specific features while everything else is pretty much perfect.
Hey, glad to hear that you are having fun ^_^
I did set up the guiding comments in the data/config/settings.json file in case you wish to toggle any of the settings. Hope that helps!

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but, where do I select my cursor style? I didn't found any keybinding or option to do so, please help :c
Hey there. You have to click on the desired cursor image/button to download it (from the original post) or from here and then put the content of the archive in the quality of life mod folder. Basically the cursor is an addon to the mod. Hope it helps ^_^

Wow dude thanks for making this mod. This is the mod I did not know I needed. I mean when I saw the name I was a bit dubious, then I watched your little showcase video and i was interested, now I have played for 6 hours with and I don't know how I managed to live without it before!!! TRUELY THANK YOU!!!
You are an Epic Captain. Stay awesome!

Thanks @n3xuiz for the 7zip suggestion that worked. I was using winrar, like you Foxy, and it wasn't working to extract the archives! I probably should have checked whether my version was up-to-date (spoiler: it's over a decade old!). Looking at the Winrar page I'm reminded of why I'm using the old version: I'm too cheap to pay for the new version :) . Time to uninstall and just use 7zip going forwards apparently.
Hehe, glad you sorted it out. Stay awesome, cheers!

When trying to extract the archive I'm getting an error claiming that the archive is bad. I tried downloading it in multiple browsers and had the same issue. I then tried downloading one of your other mods as an experiment and got the same issue. Can anyone else confirm they're having the same issue?
I archived them using winrar, but any extractor should work fine. If the issue persists, try using this online tool to extract the files: https://extract.me/

Added 2 new cursors. They do not generate great in the game due to some weird java pixel compression wizardry, but if you get used to them then they should work fine for you. Sadly there is no Alpha transparency for the cursors to work as intended. Here is the creation process if you guys like watching me fiddle with electronic devices that are out of my comprehension:

Suggestions / Re: Hire an Exploration Team from Galatia
« on: June 09, 2023, 05:45:25 AM »
I feel like this is going in the wrong direction. This suggestion is just off.

Like, the reward for something in the game shouldn't be less gameplay. If exploration isn't exciting, the problem is that **exploration isn't exciting**.

If you want to auto survey, you might as well just take exploration out of the game entirely. Isn't the right approach to, you know, just make exploration more fun?

The game is all about space combat. How about more combats out in distant sectors? More interesting encounters in distant systems, and better loot as a reward?
That might come at a later point, regarding the suggestions you have made. And yes, explorations is super dull at the moment as I do not find it exciting to go to multiple planets and spam press the G key 99% of the time. But to counter your idea that this is making the game shorter, look at the arms dealers that you can find in bars randomly that sell you every ship and blueprint at a higher price. Basically the player shortcuts the game by a lot this way as well. The idea is that you are not forced to use these vendors, the same as you are not forced to use the Exploration team if you want to do it by yourself. This just adds an alternative that players that have plaid the game multiple times, avoid going through all the exploration grinding just to find a place to set up colonies. After that, if you wish to go and explore certain places in search for special treasures or more extreme fights, that is an entirely different thing.

Also, the Exploration team does not do the fighting in the sector for you, so it would not eliminate bounties or Remnants, just collect the items and scan the planets (in sectors that are not dangerous to them). Also, you can split exploration into sending them into scanning the peaceful sectors for you (they determine which ones are those when they get there) while you could go and clean up the ones that they avoided. Exploration for the player is not being taken out of the game this way, it just makes it less of a click fest and more about you taking risks out there.

And again, sending the Team to do the heavy work for you means that you are missing out on more profits and finding potential high level officers in pods. This way it balances how much you wish to use the exploration team, plus it costs you credits to keep the exploring going, plus it will take a certain amount of time for the team to complete its task. So there is a balance in order to not abuse it, but it does make the activity feel more passive as well.

I like this idea, late game, its still fun to explore but tedious since their are usually stragglers in some far off corners. the price you pay is fair and i almost wasn't convinced until you said rare items are kept for the player
There are some things to consider, such as quest missions and pirate/ludic bases, but this is just the base idea, I am more than sure that Alex and his gang could find a way to make it work. This option is more for people who replayed the game multiple times and are just tired of doing a monotonous task.
