nah dude i just want cosmetics only. why there is an issue with having cool paint jobs for ships "other than technical issues" is byond me. surely i the normal person cant see things like the giga IQ geniuses who say having a ui improvment or QoL features are bad. 

edit: oh yeah ib4 "camoflage" they use identification codes to tell who's who. because without the ui you cant tell anyone apart

i love the ability of using story point to kit owut your ships and make them special. buy still they dont stand out in battle and ui. so i had this idea
how about we add paint jobs with colors and shades and patterns. graphitie and even engien lights ? to truley make your ships special and have more personality to em and add role play potential.
imagine having your entier fleet have one uniform color with the main ships having special patterns to signify that they are special "role play wise" and hell. make your entier faction use said colors. that would be cool thx

At this point, why not suggest Alex to make core worlds not prune so many stars around them?
honestly you can tell him to make the nearest star 100LY away all im asking is to not make it a chore to go from and to your colony as well as the accesability debuffs. thats why am asking for a map preview to reduce the chance of long trips. is that too much to ask for ?

When life gives you lemons, throw a tantrum, accuse life of being lazy, and request an option to preview what kind of fruit you will receive...
idk man i just wanna see the star map before clicking  play so i can have a decent end game and have fun My Way. i dont think am throwing a tantrum or accusing anyone.

just a simple picture UI showing you the preview for the star map when you pick your map seed.  so you can see whether ot not you like the map before starting.
cuz imo its unfortunate when your like 2 hours in a run and when you finally decide to make a colony you realise that there are no good systems near by and the vacinity of the core worlds is just an empty void with like one blackhole or an empty system "and also the best habitable world you found is an arid with high gravity somewhere far away kek"
you can avoid that by making and deleting a save  and checking the map untill you find a good seed but thats anoying . so yeah thats about it.

So high tech is the only ship "class"  that has ships with unique mechanics. aka phase ships. but what about midline and low tech ? they dont have any special ships with special mechanics and "phase ship but lowtech" is boring so i came up with two ideas fir them.

Lowtech: Armor Regenerating ships.
so that might kinda sound op but what i did is i removed there shields and instead they have regenerate "kinda like how phase replaces shields" so. in this mode. you cant fire your guns but you can regenrate armor BUT NOT HULL  and it generates hard flux. also the ships have really good armor and hull and have good fire power. but they are somewhat slow and have blind spots like every low tech ship and the armor becomes weaker during regen mode so you can beat it if you have good enough fire power.

Midline: flux "reload" and shields with hit points
the way i see it. midlines whole deal is fast manuverability and hit and run tactics. so what i came up with is midline having a classic sci fi shield. as in it is always active and has hit points and regenerates after it is destroyed. the shileds will not appear as a bubble or an orb around the ship but as a second layer so it can between tight spaces better with protection. and it also has a reaload system for flux. basically eject a flux fuse and replace it instead of venting. reloading the flux bar instantly. but the ship has bad capacity very low armor if non. meh hull. very good speed and manuverability
alot of front fire power. and also the special shields. built for hit and run.

so yeah that would give all the techs special unique ships for them instead of just having phase as the only special ships imo
im not a dev but i tried to balance them kinda but if an legit dev happened to see my post i love this game and i think it has so much potential.
