Why does the Conquest do this? No other ship spawns so many balance discussions as the Conquest does. What's the deal?

Burn Drive was originally cancelable, then Alex swung the ol' nerf bat. Glad it is back to how it was—it is now risk-free to use and you can stop exactly where you want to.

As meta as a 60 x 100 + 4000 x 10 = 46k credits a month ship can be. For comparison, Conq costs 9k a month, Paragon 11k, Onslaught 11,5k.
Come on, you've been around the block a few times haven't you? An infinite resource such as credits is not a balancing factor whatsoever. Credit costs become meaningless.

(Maybe? But as much fun as those are, they can also make for a ship with fewer loadout options, so that's something I want to be sparing with.)

Isn't the Onslaught the sole ship with a unique built-in weapon? Monitor has built-in flaks but those aren't unique and a Ship System doesn't count.

So I think it is safe to say that you have been extremely sparing, what with a single ship having a unique built-in weapon after years and years of development. :o

At 60,000 hull and 11,000 armor when properly built, the only threat to a player's Invicti is gonna be harpoon/reaper spam. Or being surrounded, and you're probably going to lose anyway if you're letting your capitals get surrounded.

Seriously, 60,000 hull is like meme mod super ship levels of hull. Then stack 11,000 armor @ 1,100 armor resistance...yeah. If you can keep the reapers and mass harpoon spam off them, you aren't going to lose one.

I think the consensus is the Eagle is master of none without actually being a jack of all trades. Just not a good ship with no clear identity to it—it either loses the flux war or takes forever to actually kill anything.

Perhaps when the current in-dev patch comes out and we get ahold of those new IR Burst Laser weapons...

I think it is mainly about the 14th Legion and DA MISSILES!

To be blunt, it's because Alex is very slow. He does great work, but the pace of new content updates is glacial.

He'd get roasted to hell and back for slow speed and "abandoning" the game.

Just look at other slow developers like Valheim and how much they've gotten roasted.
