Hmm, getting a crash related to the Castigator (LI) upon entering a system. It had some of its smalls upsized. Script conflict? Leaving the ship at home appears to suffice as a workaround.

Storm Needlers are great for in-your-face ships with large ballistics. There's a two-pronged, heavily armored capital that happens to have burn drive as well as a lot of slots for heavy mortars, HMGs, and medium missiles....

In the game, for those who missed the post.  It is vital information that should be in the game.  It is odd considering other features tend to have detailed information on how they work, but Lidar shutting off ballistic weapons (but not missiles) is critical information that is not mentioned in the game but should be available somewhere, whether codex or on the hud with the other boosts.

It says right there when hovering over [?] that the LIDAR Array system disables turrets.

we already do. it's called the interdiction pulse. great for scaring away hyperspace ghosties.

fun fact: do it enough eventually you'll come across some flavour text when visiting a bar. apparently other spacers don't like it when you "shout" at the ghosts.

Right, right, but I want one with a blaring audio ... and for in-combat use.  ;D

Okay, this is a silly idea. But what if SS had a button to sound the ship's horn? I know, I know, no sound in space, but perhaps a ship is simply shouting into all comms channels with simulated horns.... Drive bubble ping, local hyperwave distortion, whatever you want to call it. ;D

As a bonus, it'd be fun to hear pirates toot the horn while burn driving into battle.

Hey there, seems to be a math error in Advanced Turret Gyros effect that is causing capitals to deal not +20% damage to frigates, but close to 20x. Have not tested this with other hullsizes yet.

If it's not already in the dev build, giving Dedicated Targeting Core's an s-mod bonus of +5/10% range (so it matches ITU) is a great QoL boon for if you get cruisers earlier on before you find ITU, since it lets you smod in a range bonus without it potentially being a permanent downgrade
I'd almost rather see it get some other small bonus for being s-modded - maybe 15% reduced recoil or 10% increased projectile speed - just so that it's not a complete clone of ITU (and so that finding that rare ITU modspec is still exciting.)

But you're right that it should definitely get something.

It would be, if you weren't able to take Ballistic Mastery to immediately get it! And you can refund the pick immediately, too, for SP.  ;D

17 DP Eagle? That's great, now we can compare it directly with Eradicator P, wich has:

 - base speed as high as Eagle using Maneouvering Jets
 - Burn Drive on top of that
 - two more small ballistics and three more small missile slots all neatly pointed towards the enemy
 - base burn of 9
 - red space camo drip instead of Eagle's cheap puke green paint(then if you put Graviton Beams on it... yuck)

Hey man, I agree, but it's really more of a luxurious bronze...

(Watching the community try to powercreep a ship when the same criticised a couple of latest ones)

But seriously, can't we just wait and see how it's gonna go in the next version... There's a bunch of things being added and changed, yet people modified one (not even final) stat for a ship and concluded it's trash. Surely you all realise there's much more to ship strength than pure stat adjustments. Weapons, hullmods, skills, other ship changes, new content, new enemies, and so on.

Somewhat better flux and logistics stats don't fix the fundamental problems (well stated by other posters) of fielding an Eagle, which will continue to suffer in the midst of new content because stronger weapons and hullmods that make the Eagle viable will almost certainly make other cruisers that much stronger as well, still leaving poor bird cruiser in the dust.  8)

Only "common" vanilla ship I could see benefitting from it is the upcoming Invictus, and instead of armor modules, that one got special armor mechanics.

(I do admit I am not opposed to Starsector being a little more like Battleships Forever.  ;D)
