I would prefer nuclear missiles (massive explosion, AOE) or a ballistic piece of artillery that explodes.  Singularities or Neutrino cascades aren't AOE, insamuch as they are special weapons. No, something that has a massive explosion would suit the balance much more (you can adjust explosion radius, shielded ships can handle it)

They're SUPPOSED to be unbalanced. They're more advanced ships: It's like a modern cruiser going up against a WWI dreadnought. The Dreadnought has ridiculous firepower (for its' time) but the cruiser just outperforms it. Now imagine where you can build 5 of these dreadnoughts or one of these cruisers.


What's going to happen is that while tri-tachyon ships will be superior, Hegemony ships will outnumber them. The tri-tachyon corp won't have the resources nor the manpower to build or crew the fleets the hegemony has. when viewing this from a interstellar perspective, tri-tachyon will be inferior (later, not now.)

Yeah, marines are usually the troops on board ships that launch expeditionary attacks and board enemy ships.

Exactly. Single-planet "minor" factions that might expand to a few more planets and collapse in a few months.

I know factions haven't been added yet, but I would love to see a sort of "fluid" region. That is, rich worlds might expand over a few worlds, then suddenly collapse after a devastating raid by pirates on one of its' rich worlds. It's homeworld and previous planets are annexed by other powers, who proceed to war and form small empires/collapse.

All of this, while you travel around this. Just a little thought, while this game is still in development and that is being coded.
