The update is close. I can feel it in my bones, like aching joints before stormy weather.

Pretty sure starsector has been developed the same way, and with the same consistency, since before I started following it. Almost a decade ago now :b

It's very not dead, but most games that were in development in 2011 are. So if you're a fan of this game, you're pretty lucky.

It's not the ai's job to make killing them easy. If you're used to enemies on other games that act half brain damaged and stay in one place while you slowly chip them down, you should probably rethink some things

I wonder how many times I've typed fr_ (autofill enter) into my browser over the development of this game. Those blog posts are addicting.

Definitely. If you ask me even the standalone combat missions alone are a complete game, especially comparing starsector to any of its peers. A herculean amount of work has gone into starsector, from whom I would describe as the most focused, thoughtful, and thorough developer in the industry.

I'm getting torn Alex.. I want to leave you be to do your mad science but I am getting desperate for the next update. You know your blog page is the only website I check every day without fail. But in the end your way of doing things properly rather then slamming out unfinished patches is the right way so I'll leave it be. Godspeed though.

Yeah agreed

This is incredible. Seriously, this last blog post shows a quantum leap to map-scale progressive gameplay that accelerates past any expectations I had. Astounding. You're almost there!

This feels thematically similar to starsector but isn't space music in the traditional sense

I found a rather gamebreaking bug. I can't load my savegame. This was after I had quit from a three fleet pirate ambush mid-battle and was trying to reload at the main menu. It just gave the standard error message.

Happens to me too, tells me to look at starsector.log
