hello just updated the mod, deleted the old ver before unzipping the new but it's CTD at the lunching of the game with a Fatal: Slot id WS 002 not found on hull MSS_Crusader_Elite

oddly enough when i retraced my update by leaving the old mod up then over ridding it with the update i can playish the game but it still CTD me at some point

That looks like an error from another mod, specifically Mayasuran Navy. (MSS in the ship hull name)

Make sure you've got that fully updated, it seems like the latest update may address the issue?

Hi, hope i'm doing this right since i have no idea how this works...

I build the frontier protocol thing when my mouse points to it the game crush, i used the new game+ mod so i start the game with it, not sure if it have anything to do with it.

It said "Fatal:com.fs.starfarer.api.ui.TooltipMakerAPI.addImageWithText(F)V
and here's the log

Whichever mod the "acs_industry_frontier_protocol.java" script file is a part of is looking for a feature that doesn't exist in the core game. Does "acs" sound familiar at all? Make sure both that mod and your game are updated to the latest releases, and that the mod actually works with 0.96a. Your game should be at 0.96a RC10.

(I haven't used this mod yet, so if it's something from here disregard that part)

No worries, you all do this as a hobby after all. Good news is the mod now shows up in the launcher just fine but the bad news is it still crashes to desktop when loading the actual game itself. The fresh logfile is attached below. I really am sorry for all this trouble.

Haven't seen that specific error before, and the trace doesn't help too much either. It does seem to be dying on loading textures, so maybe it's worth having a look through the graphics folders? Compare the file names there to the ones in the .csv files, and see if the capitalization matches.

(for what it's worth, I seem to recall case mismatches throwing clearer errors when I last ran Starsector on Linux? this is a weird issue)

Can you upload the mod_info file somewhere and link it here? The included file does have some inconsistent indentation, something might've broken further while editing that.

Sorry for the late reply, apparently the forums never notified me. Here's your issue, most likely:

Something seems to have corrupted the start of the file. The proper JSON data is still there, but there's a huge block of null characters right before. You can view these yourself by using a text editor that can show symbols, it's usually an option somewhere. Your file's also got a different encoding (ANSI, original is UTF-8), but not sure if that'd break it.

Try the file below, see if that does the trick. (it's a copy of the original)

ArmaA hotfix .jar for ground battle crashes (place in Arma Armatura/jars)

No clue why, but installing that should work around the crash for the time being.

Has anyone found a way to circumvent the crashes, either with a personally made hotfix or otherwise? I tried to equip hull mods quickly as was suggested earlier in the thread, but I guess I'm too slow. Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm told this hotfix .jar works made by other users.

could I put that said jar on here?

oh I forgot to put some text in the URL link. Yeah just download this .jar and replace it in your current Iron Shell folder.

Doesn't seem to be a file there for me, just opens a blank page. Right-clicking and saving it that way results in a 0 byte file.

Just wanted to say that I absolutely loved the Pebble from this. It was an awesome tank while I had it, often being one of the last ships standing on my side. Things got even crazier when I figured out Experimental Hull Modifications and up-sized some of its slots -- that thing was deadly!

You will be missed, ISS Agelaus.

if anyone else gets the hmi_canister_flak error I solved it by enabling the hmi core mod and the brigthon mod

Can confirm that works. Does mean that Supervillains can't be used standalone in its current iteration, though. (though it's probably fixable with a quick edit to that system file)

Did a quick file search for "hmi_canister_flak", and found a hit in "HMI_Supervillains\data\shipsystems\hmi_proxi_flare.system". Old dependency?

Since I am fond of the aesthetics of this mod, and the fact that the author has been offline for a year, I've taken the liberty to simplify the faction files as per SpaceDrake's advice, distribute them to the indies and change the matched game version to 0.96a. I will take down this when requested by the author.

I noticed one slight issue with its folder structure: The way it's set up now causes it to drop mod files directly into "mods" when extracted, instead of it extracting into a folder of its own.

Original release: Immersion Friendly Portrait Pack_Vanilla.7z > Immersion Friendly Portrait Pack_Vanilla > mod files (also the format other mods use)
Unofficial update: Immersion Friendly Portrait Pack_Vanilla.zip > mod files

Was wondering why I suddenly had mod-specific files sitting in the middle of my mod folders. Easy enough to fix after the fact, but may be worth changing at some point.
