I'd never noticed it before, but the tooltip when hovering over jump points states.
"Some jump points also lead to other destinations."
Is it just some legacy text, there to mean you can use jump points to transit between different systems?
Or is there a more cryptic 'somewhere else' that jump points may (in the future) be able to take you?
[insert SciFi trope for jump gates journeying to extra 'spaces' here] :D

You CAN have jump points link wherever you want. I believe you don't even need to link to hyperspace. Its just that people haven't done it. :P
-
Ooh, does it mean we can mod in-system travel jump point or something like that?
-
You know, I read that description when I was playing Scy. It helped a lot. :P
But yea, you can have jump points link to anywhere. I think you can even create completely new areas.

Yup, or at least I think so!
You can also set restrictions on using them, like stars (requires L7 navigation). In theory you could have a jump point that suddenly opened up and started spewing aliens. Only by hunting them down and eventually capturing a ship to activate their wormhole can you take the fight to them!
... and suddenly I want someone to make that mod.... anyone have good alien sprites?

There are... Plans in various mods to play a lot more with that. ;D

Sweeeet. I look forward to them :).
