Hello,
Have tried selling metals on Tartessus.. ( Only place i found that seemed to offer a good price )
Initial indications showed 51 credits per unit but when i sellected a stack of 1488 metal price before tax was 1488 credits :(
Is this correct?
Any help appreciated
Cheers

As you sell stuff, the planet/station's market will fill and offer less and less of it.
So the first metal might have sold for 51 but if Tartessus doesn't need any more, it will give you less money for it. If you add the tarif on top you're not in to make a lot of money.

Right, yeah. There's no demand for metals on Tartessus, so the "nobody needs it" curve is very sharp. The first couple of units, you might have found a specialized buyer for, but after that...

Ah k, many thanks for info..
is there anywhere good to offload metals or an event that'll sometime demand it?

ive seen demand for metals ocasinaly, but its rare
ive found trading in drugs, fuel, supplies, and food the only reliably profitable things
one of the odd things i have found is that if you have a massive trade fleet and 3 large planets ~2 days apart
you can buy ALL the food from #1, then sell it to #2 (with food shortage)
then buy all the food from #3, and travel back to sell to #1 (winch now has food shortage)
and cycle the food like that for crazy profit
I got 2million credits cycling 4000 units of food between a few planets like this
