I don't know, I just tested stuff piloting myself. I'll give it a go for testing the AI

 That thing is gonna be the nightmare of every player out there. ;D
 But I have a question: where the hell is da engine?
 Will they use wings? Pressurized gases? Cans of beans instead of infernium?

I'm not finished with animating the engine parts and that's why there are no engines atm. Partly BGE ships will use standard engine stuff with some fancy colour and partly animated fins/tentacles/wings.
That stuff is one of my least concerns atm.
Probably the best thing to do right now would be to write custom AI shizz, link it somehow only to BGE ships and be happy that those little buggers come in nice and close to give every other ship a strong hug.
But that stuff is beyond my abilities tbh, I'm not even able to write my life leech onhit effect.
So, either someone with really good coding skills shows up and is going to help me with this mod or I will do cosmetic stuff forever.

In other words: I'm gonna need some help with this, please!

AI actually handles 'melee' weapons pretty good. At least if the weapon is basic one with just hidden projectiles and if this is the only weapon type the ship has.

At least my RSF miner ships with drills properly target the enemy ships.

What do you mean by "basic"? M ship on autopilot only cyrcles the enemy but doesn't even get close enough. Don't know why that is different.

Edit: Solved the AI problems for now with a tractor beam weapon. Will make it look like a tentacle

Edit: I put blinking eyes on the head which can't be seen very well on dropbox. To see blinking eyes download the file.
PS: Yes that are repulsor beams, I still need to change the sprite and beam animation but when it's finished those will be grappling tentacles.
Also the engines are just a placeholder atm but I'm not really sure how to make a proper preset for the engines so I can easily pop them on all my ships.

Damn, the animation work look very good! Continue like this and your space crabs are going to be one of the big mod on the forum!

Thanks for the encouragement!
It took me ages to animate those tentacle fins bit by bit. Next up will be more ships and after that the systems for them. I'm trying to make this as polished as possible!
