That would be interesting, mostly because it reminds me of the X,Freelancer and Freespace type of game.(And because we know how good you are at games sprog *cough*Kerbal Space Program*cough*

Saw this a few months ago. Didn't really understand the tutorial so I didn't know how to play.

Played through the tutorial. Looks interesting though but it's hard. XD You can die really fast. (IE the ship you're currently controlling blowing up!)

Hey guys - thanks for checking my project out <---- I'm the dev.

I was looking foreward to that video... broke my heart - unless I missed it?

Its not my intent that you die (and have the game end) until you get into the command ship and engage in big battles, but its hard to get the balance right. I hope to have a smoother "tutorial" intro in the future. If you have any feedback or questions let me know.

Another iteration has been released featuring the first official trailer:

Also brought on a Kickstarter and Greenlight campaigns.

Sup man, I added you on steam. I'll record some, if you like?

Video - That would be awesome - I have very little knowledge of what the game is like for actual players. I saw just a video that one of the backers posted and it was somewhat eye opening.

Glad you are enjoying the game.

I'll accept your invite when I'm in front of Steam :)

Sure man, no problem. I keep getting a crash with your latest iteration, it would appear to happen when selecting everything on screen, including an movable object ie a station, but I'm unsure....

Cool on vid.

Bug : Hmm... I'll check into that... with all the new players the game is going to become a lot more stable - though through a rockier path. Thanks for the bug description.

No problem, keep us posted on updates here too :P

And I like what your doing with the kickstarter updates, it's like a diary :)

Hey guys! I haven't "promoted/marketed" since Kickstarter... over 60 days I believe. With the recent 100 games being greenlit Void Destroyer jumped up in rankings, we are now in the top 100 (out of over 1300). So I'm devoting some time to get even higher in the rankings.

So - if you haven't yet - please vote for Void Destroyer making it into Steam - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=146068036 (since voting via the web page is somewhat clumsy you can also find Void Destroyer via going to the Steam Client - then clicking Community - then choosing Greenlight and entering in "Void Destroyer" into the search). And if you'd be so kind as to bug your Steam (and other) friends to vote that would be incredibly helpful as well.

Here is an updated video of updates since Kickstarter:

There is an updated demo on the main site here: http://www.VoidDestroyer.com so you can check out the changes.

Here's a vid where I talk about the recent mouse changes and time dilation system:

Here's a screen shot of the new repair ships:

Thank you!

well, this game finally came out on steam after 1 year in early access

Got the game recently. It heavily reminds me of Homeworld 2 - tactical screen, 'mothership' of sorts, ship construction, ship types. Liked the ability to control ships, turrets and turret groups - this is something familiar to me (from Pacific Storm series), but at the same time - new.

Didn`t get past the first real combat mission - the restrictions per ship class are too limiting imho (just 10 fighters, 6 corvettes and 4 frigates). I was unable to go offensive as I was constantly attacked and was forced to rebuilt the losses right in time for more waves. Also AI most of the time attempts to kill your command ship rendering it`s extreme firepower useless in any kind of combat.

Was disappointed to see no multiplayer in this game...

Ah, Pacific Storm. The precursor to BattleStations (Pacific & Midway). I enjoyed all 3.

As for Void Destroyer, it's just not for me. No idea why, don't like it.

It also looks weird. Like... Borderlands in space. All these black outlines, slightly cartoonish looks.
I don`t say that this is bad, but for me it is odd.

The outlines can be disabled in the graphics options.

Thanks for info. I`ll try this out.

Got any tips on how to best use the tactical layer/commands/command ship upgrades?
Is there a chance for the command ship to be moved somewhere to safety without AI hunting it down? I can`t ensure it survival at all.

I'm sure I'm not telling you something you haven't already thought yourself..... but you should definitely ask Total Biscuit if he'd be interested in covering Void Destroyer.

It's a fusion of 2 genres that I think he's a natural fan of, and obviously indie too; I'm sure he'd be interested.
You just need to get his attention!

It was after all his coverage of Starsector that made me (and many others) aware of its existence!

:edit:

Though if the control scheme is challenging to learn, be prepared for some criticism - he isn't the quickest of gamers ;)

Just recently played trough the game...

The gameplay is really good, but the sound and art is really horrible....

Tho it seems like if you want to win you either do abusive tactics while piloting or just play it like an rts.

The sound design is based around subtlety and muffled like you are hearing vibrations in the ship hull, I find it a very pleasant and unique effect.

i personally quite enjoy the sound effects, very realistic :)
