Title: How did you last die?

Tell us how you died in the video game you were most recently playing. Place the name of your game into a spoiler. More than one death in a single post is acceptable. Detail is encouraged. Try to avoid posting deaths from Starfarer too much, as I'm sure we get plenty of that in the rest of the forum, but if you think your last death was particularly ball-busting (it wasn't) and that we'll just love to hear about it (we won't), that's fine too. That is all.


Impaled by a violent Zoa (icky plant-thing with a spike on its head(?)), then fell into a pool of acid.

Lead an epic charge which I knew I could not win against the combined kings of Calradia. 253 men, trained to the edge, against nearly 2,000. We fought to the last man, with them victorious with but 24 soldiers left.

Stalking the streets of Chernogorsk at night, with a small force of rag-tag scavenger types, flash-lights carving through the claustrophobic darkness. A small *thwip* was heard from the abyss then a thud and the screen turning a deep red. The end.

Fighting for my life, 15 seconds left on the last match, we are both equal in wins/loses, both our defense limits are red....and then...Failed to Just guard/interrupt/avoid Nightmares critical edge and got one shotted, losing the match and the game.

Cut off a minotaurs head but at the cost of (wait for it) an arm and a leg. I then bled out, but at least my death was not for nothing. The town of beertrousers will be safe.

While being the only engineer in a MAX crash to retake the crater i got focus-fired by 3 main battle tanks :P

Commanding a steam-powered corvette against another, I had 13 guns, the enemy, 12. My one gun advantage could not match their explosive shells, especially in the fog. The enemy closed in before we can do any serious damage and started pounding on us with explosives. We overheated our engines getting away and got most of our ships burned off. Recovering just in time to see the enemy ship coming up next to us and preparing to board. The men surrendered soon after.

Was leading an assault when the first force made contact with a Goliath tracked mine and resulted in a cascade explosion that destroyed half of my assault tanks.

I tried to fight a super powerful colossal Cthulhu with my customized Robosaur. It was close, but Cthulhu killed my Robosaur and I followed shortly.

Moved in and revived  my teamate, but he got killed again. I was under heavy fire, and I killed 3 more enemies before a sniper flechette'd me in the head  :D

Forgot that "E" strafes you in a direction i did not intend to go, i recieved around 10.000 HE damage shortly after and was destroyed in about 2 seconds, my poor hound...

After botching up an attack, I had two heavies firing into my cave. ended when a few crazy Molotov guys threw some in, along with grenades.

Died crashing with my fighter into an enemy bomber while having about 10% of health left and at least one missile on my tail. The other bombers and fighters devastated out tank column, but still I proudly gave my life for the Republic. Death or glory!

Power-armored alien troopers came up on my flank and opened up with their plasma rifles, killed half the team before we can react, the rest panicked and went down before they can fall back to extraction

With my back to the wall, my summoned golem on the far side of the arena fighting 3 different enemies, and just about all of my spells on cooldown, I stepped forward a space and was instantly blasted to death by several golden crystals, which finished my golem off just a single turn later.

Wow, I wish I had a PC that could run that game, because PS2 sounds awesome. But the chances of me owning a game-worthy PC, are either in the far future or never at all :-[.

Shot through the head with and arrow, survived, healed , stuck full of needles, then had my head removed by a black scotsman.

entire team killed down to the last man by some stupid errors, the 1 remaining soldier, a rookie no less goes on to almost finish the mission by herself, killing 5 aliens single handedly before being shot from long range by a single lucky shot. o7
