Title: Star Citizen
Post by: Gothars on October 10, 2012, 01:14:34 PM
I'm drooling, I'm drooling! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=DqIC2B9UVPM)

In short, this is THE space action game everybody has been waiting for! From the maker of Wing Commander and Freelancer! High end graphic! Simulation-grade realism! Singleplayer Campaign! Persistent Universe Multiplayer! Joystick and Occulus Rift support!  Only need to raise a few million dollar from the crowd! I'll be damned!

How many different indie games are you advertising? ;D Seems a bit odd, no?

What, I'm excited! It's not my fault if all those cool games appear at the same time!  ;D

I don't even care if a game is indie or not, but oddly all the really interesting ones are...

Perhaps I am from a simpler time, when you bought games that were completed, rather than unstarted, but I find it hard to get all excited over things that don't exist.

Honestly, you never know if any excitement was justified before you actually play the game, so you pay to early anyway. Doesn't make much difference to me if I pay for an idea and a promise or a finished pile of code and a promise, aside from the waiting time obviously.

But especially if you are an older gamer I'm surprised that not at least one of the numerous revivals on Kickstarter got you excited...?

Well, there are certain games that, yes, have excited me despite myself, and I've funded both SF and Kinetic Void, both of which had only a little to show for themselves at the point I paid for them.

Revivals are good, but often go astray, so I can't get too hyped up over them.

P.S. I'm only... uhh... 21. Not exactly an "older gamer" unless I'm on an Xbox.

Oh god wai. Wai.

I have to spend my money on it, i just have to. Like, now.

On a more serious note, what will the gameplay be like in MP? And do you automatically gain credits when farming, having battles etc. or are they real cash only?

Damnit, why? :(

When i try to pledge, it says

"Message from gateway:

invalid currency: eur"

And i selected the EU pledge site. :/

how do you know it's a fighter? I mean, it has a CSS name infront of it. Are there any capships you can pilot though.

I really hope players will be able to walk inside of eachothers ships, or atleast dock inside of eachothers ships, if one of them has a Carrier or larger :D

he talked about that in the gamespot video. you can own your very own carrier and can tug around your buddies fighters.

But what kind of ship variance will there be? I mean, what kind of ships will you get to use? :D

You're meaning you pledged 200 euros before seeing what exactly the game will have in it?

I dunno about you, but to me that seems like a slightly silly idea

That video, yeah? Pure gameplay. I mean, sure, it didn't seem as much, but it showed exactly what the game will look like and be like. that showed exactly the in-engine rendered spaceships, combat, fights etc. that convinced me. And besides, the creators background is good enough.

But yeah, i'm a bit of a spendthrift :)

wait, hang on, will you have to pay by month to play the multiplayer part or?

Looks like I'm going to get a gaming PC rather than my pledge

Which, if I'm honest, is way better

Kickstarter has said they'll help because they're getting way too many hits on their site. If you wait, you can pledge on kickstarter
