Unbelievable

I remember when I played that game so much I had permanent human autopilot, it was creepy as hell

To explain, think of it as the most insanely good looking game ever made, combat racing at 583 KPH... on the lowest speed setting, across some insane tracks, with probably the best ship design ever.

I finished every race in the fury campaign gold medal with that thing. Un-bee-leevable.

Only 583, that's rather slow, don't you think?

For futuristic racers 583 does sound rather slow to me.

Seems reasonable to be, the separators actually need to be able to see them, although at full speed they do go way to fast for the human eye to keep track of.

if spectators are the issue i think there's bigger concerns than being able to see the racers. Like, if one going 4000 kph flies off the track into onlookers.

Oh wait! i forgot, the spectators watch from this high speed camera thing, i remember seeing it a few times. and if i recall correctly all the audience uses holograms for something similar to feel like they're actually watching from seats... if that makes sense.

Should be playing F-Zero if you're wanting fast races :P

583 is slowest speed (Venom) there's flash, rapier, and phantom (800, 1000, 1500) and then you have zone for speed freaks (6000+)

This may not count due to the whole perfect inputs thing, but this guy maxes out around 12000 kph: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NbduA_aLT0

Interesting, but his drops and stuff, (wob wob wob) Zone ramps up and stays where it is no matter what you do - as fast as that is, the constant drop outs in speed and track simplicity don't match the huge difficulty of going around a circuit constantly at a few thousand KPH (or is it MPH?) with energy critical when the circuit is just so chock full of nasty bends, drops, sharp u turns, not to mention trippy as hell graphics
