Title: Quest "Knights Errand" not starting (Mild spoilers)
Post by: Slyve on May 26, 2023, 08:11:04 AM
Hello! I talked to the chief church mum on Gilead and she sent me on the quest to chalcedon to get Jethro back. However, the quest didn't actually start, even though i got the 25k upfront bonus. I can't talk to her (no options) nor can i talk to anyone on chalcedon (comm menu or bar) and i have no idea how to proceed here. Any advice?

Thanks for the report!

I suspect this is some not a strictly vanilla type situation going on, so I have to ask two important questions:

- Are you using any mods? (If planets have changed faction, the mission will abort.)
- And have you sat-bombed any worlds/are the markets on Chalcedon, Mazalot, or Gilead destroyed? (If the markets are destroyed, the mission will abort.)

Both shouldn't be possible without mods.

Oh, Yes, i do use Nexerelin and some planets have shifted ownership. Gilead for sure. That would explain it.

Thank you!

Edit: If i were to make sure that all the planets related to the quest return to their original owner, is there any way to manually start the quest again?

If you run the game in devMode, you should have a gray dev option to kick the quest off when interacting with Gilead. Remember to turn devMode off once you have the quest started; it can cause various problems if left on for long.
