Title: Does the campaign use dynamic ship generation?
Post by: rogerbacon on December 30, 2022, 05:59:53 PM
Are the ships we encounter in the campaign put together dynamically (hull + weapons + hull mods) or do they have to exist as a variant already?

They exist as a variant but the game randomizes some of the weapon slots

They adhere to a variant but can replace various weapons with other weapons that fill the same role. I believe it's meant to be dynamic depending on the market it spawned from, an unstable market will spawn ships with more of its high end weapons replaced with low end equivalents.

You are correct. I was playing teh campaign and I just got attacked by a ship using one of the custom weapons I made, even though it's not on any variant. It was very cool to ehar the sound effect and know it was my weapon.
