Here is a render I have done a few years ago as a school project, I figured i should finally post it here. Hope you will like it !

Modeling and shaders done with 3DS Max,
Textures with Photoshop,
Rendering with V-Ray.

It took abound 3 weeks of work, and 6 hours of rendering for a single image.

Looks great! The attention to detail is superb. To me, it manages to capture the warm tone of the original scene. I keep going back and forth between the original and your render.  :)
