Gas Giant colonies are essentially space stations, so it's not too unbelievable that there are ruins there.

The description of the ruins is for them being on the surface of the Gas Giant. I've also seen ruins on planets with huge surface veins of moltern metal with ruins.
It isn't impossible in a sci-fi setting, but it would be nice to have some neat text variation to acknowledge that you are finding ruins in unusual places :)

The ground batteries on gas giant colonies show the batteries being mounted on a space station.

I very much appreciated this additional detail on my first game playthrough (One of my colonies was set up around a Gas Giant which is where I first noticed the ground battery icon differences).
It's cool extra details like Industry icons that change with population size or resource density (farming looks different depending on the farming land quality) which make this game so much better for me :D

Then we have another bug: "no atmosphere" items don't work on gas giants.

You might think of these more as "Cloud City", then, perhaps :)
