Title: Ship Orders
Post by: Toxcity on September 26, 2020, 08:15:55 AM
Didn't see this mentioned anywhere, but it seems like we'll be able to order ships without a colony next patch!

I am hoping to see patch notes by the end of this month.

Well that's a bold guess seeing how there's only 5 more days. I honestly forgot for a moment in-dev patch notes are a thing and thought Alex is just gonna release everything at once. Actually I'm kinda curious now, let me go check when the ''I should probably put some patch notes sooner rather than later'' response was.

Ship orders were actually confirmed in the latest blog post I think, but that's a bit hard to find mentioned here since it's buried under piles of pages. I honestly can't wait to not rush build Heavy industry just so I have a decent ship, or have one of the rare ones that don't show up whole game.

EDIT:
I probably should put some up sooner rather than later, though. Otherwise it'll become more and more of an expectation that patch notes == impending release!
It would seem it has been a while...

So next release the ultra rare Medusa, Aurora and Odyssey shall be easier to obtain through an appropriate contact. Great news, thanks for sharing!

Oh my! I didn't see this change!

That's so great! I always felt like the game as two part of gameplay: before and after Heavy Industries. If playing without the colony aspect, it felt like you were sooner or letter obligated to built it to finally get use of all the blueprints accumulated! So finally we will be able to play true privateer/pirate/mercenary without the administrator stuff

In my current game I've found 2 derelict Legions.  Could not recover either...  I kind of wonder if there is a fixed number of them in the sector and some of them are recoverable, some not, or if it's a random chance each time.  Maybe I should try save-scumming?  They're basically my favorite ship (apart from Sunder which I typically pilot).

Being able to order XIV Legions would be great.

There's guaranteed to be some recoverable and some non-recoverable; the exact numbers vary a bit.

Do you remember where you find those two? If yes, seek in a same constellation star systems.

Just do not try to recover if you are at the fleet cap (of 30 ships).  Recoverable ships become non-recoverable if you attempt to recover while at the fleet cap.
