Title: Paying pursuing fleets to leave you alone
Post by: iot111 on February 27, 2020, 10:09:02 AM
So, I've been doing some bounty hunting on one of Luddic church guys and encountered a problem. At some point ONE large Luddic fleet was following me and caught up. They've asked me to pay them 37k and so I did. Immediately after, SEVEN 1-2 Luddic ships fleets come to me and each of them ask for the exact same payment. I can't fight them, because the pull the huge fleet into the fight as well.

My suggestion here is that once I've payed to one fleet all other fleets of the same faction should also get calmed down and leave me be.

I support this suggestion, I also find it annoying and more than a little immersion-breaking to have several Pather fleets each demand a separate tithe from me in quick succession. I love the ability to "pay them off" as it were, but I agree the interaction needs a little TLC.

It doesn't need to be complicated. Perhaps just something that detects other nearby Pather fleets when you pay a tithe to one, which duplicates the effects (making the fleet temporarily non-hostile) across all those fleets, just like the one you paid has communicated to the others "alright yeah this guy's cool, let him pass."

The Luddic Church does not ask for payment. They act the same as any other normal faction.
