Title: 'Replay last battle' in simulation
Post by: vlad_1492 on August 17, 2019, 01:38:34 AM
Want to make some tweaks to the loadout, then test against that fight we just had.
Launches current fleet against the previous enemy in simulation.

Sadly because the engine of SS isn't deterministic, you can't do replays in the game

This sounds like it isn't that kind of replay though, just playing a sim battle against the last fought fleet.

Yeah, I think he just wants a QoL tool for testing stuff out, that isn't as clunky as writing a Mission.

If it is just a simulation then it shouldn't be too hard to do I would imagine. I could see the benefit to the player to learn to form something like that.

Not looking for fancy, just throw the same fleet at me from previous battle.

Or have a way to 'store combat logs' from a few fights to bring up in the simulator later.

It'll be nice if the simulator simply gave you a list of all available ship hulls/variants of which you can choose multiple of.
