Genuinely curious how other people play.

Selling weapons generally don't pay much, so I tend to keep anything I find early on. Later on as I'm solidifying some kind of doctrine for my ships I tend to sell the stockpile of things I don't use, but by then it's not even about the money, but limiting the time looking over the weapons list when fitting new ships.
I've found it's nearly always a good idea to keep weapons you salvage or otherwise find for 'free' as they can make good options when you are desperate. Ironically my piracy runs always tend to be the poorest so the one fleet most likely to use a random smattering of different weapons and ships ends up being one of the few cases where I sell weapons, desperate for the money to keep my broke raider fleet running :P
Same policy goes for ships too btw. I hoard what I can, even if I don't use them right off the bat, because salvaging ships for your own use tend to be the only way to go, selling hulls you find often nets you far less than you paid in fuel and supplies to get that battered hull to the market. If it's a ship you have little to no interest in, scrapping it for salvage in the field is usually the best idea.

Of course. Nothing feels better than offloading all your loot into your Abandoned Outpost base of operations (and personal Colony later).

I'm partial to the Abandoned Astropolis since it orbits Mayasura, a market planet for the independents. Makes refuelling and resuppling a breeze.

I recognized a long time ago that I was powerless over my addiction, and I'd have leave things up to the higher power. Mork said that I would need more dakka, and so the stockpile continues to grow.

Due to how the game works, you can hardly be certain you will get a certain weapon at any point. In addition to that, weapons sell for relatively little money. It's better to hoard them for convenience and to have a reliable place to outfit new ships.

I generally sell crap weapons I never or rarely use like Pilums, Light Dual Machine Gun, Assault Chainguns (too niche), and excess Harpoons. Especially if I am short on money or cargo space.
I hoard the rest.
By endgame, I will have most if not all of the blueprints and I can build as many as I want.

Are there players that dont...?
If weapons sold for anything worthwhile, I would consider it, but as it stands, I just dump ALL salvage weapons into my main planet. Easier than sort what I wanna use or not.
So I end up with dozens of each.
