On system screen when I encounter a fleet I can not check any info of ships present in it. Being new to the game, it was really hard to decide, if I should engage, and even later on I have to know all ships by image to make any judgement.
Possibly dropdown menu on left click with second option as info screen would be a decent solution.
Also displaying ship CR deployment cost just on mouseover.

Are you talking a hostile fleet encounter? Pre or During combat?
In the screen that is pre combat, You can mouse over them and hit F1 to see their full info card along with eapons and hullmods
In combat, you can click on a ship and mouse over the armor readout in the bottom left hand corner and get the same full info card

no "encounter dialog" yet. I've not decided if I ever want to have encounter or have to run away right now. Encounter is too late to make such decision.

A left click on the fleet to display info on the ships, as if you are in physical contact with them would be nice. As it is right click on the fleets just makes the screen jump around.
